Petty and Oliver are automatic inclusions.

Bedford and Tomlinson (assuming Lever is fit) out, albeit Tomlinson very stiff after a close to flawless game.

We could see Brown (knee) miss and Weideman replace him.

Tactically I would like to see Jackson run on the ball with Bontempelli for some parts of the game.

The key issues in our game at the moment are the down form of Salem, Gawn and May.

I would go for Hunt or Tomlinson as the sub.

That would be similar to Blitz-Ar@e running with Cripps.

Would Jackson have the aerobic capacity post his recent injury? Blicavs is an aerobic beast. We have to back our mids to beat their mids.

I think Jackson covers the ground very well but you are right in saying that he isn't Blicavs level in endurance. That said, I have wanted us to put Jackson in the midfield all year because he has the size, hands and explosiveness to be a weapon inside.

I also think we need to experiment with the Cats in mind and would say that Blicavs has been a revelation due to his size and discipline more than just because of his running ability.

Seems likely:

- Petty in Tomlinson out unless Lever doesn’t come up.

- Oliver in for one of Bedford or Melksham. Bedford for me as he has done very little last two games.

possibilities:

- Weid or JVR in for Melksham

Medi-sub one of Tomlinson, Hunt, Bedford

Handy for Demons Caleb Daniel is out - he with Bont have hurt us in the past!

Melksham stays in, really toughens up our forward line. Bring in Weideman, he does as well. Give Jackson a spell, or Max.

I assuming Lever won't get up. cant risk his shoulder at this stage

IN Clarry, Petty

Out Melksham, Lever

Throw Petty fwd

I know putting Petty fwd is a risk and it is late in the season but we need to take a risk. Brown is on his own and Weed/M Brown are not up to it. BB is also a little injured and we need a big body up there

If Petty comes in for Lever he probably won’t be thrown forward. We’d be too light on for tall backs, especially with Naughton, Bruce and English down there. If Lever is good to go then Petty and Clarry could come in for Melksham and Bedford with Petty to play forward, Clarry to the middle and Sparrow back to more HF.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
