CASEY: Rd 11 vs Sydney

Swans on top second half of this quarter

Swans are well on top

I just watched the last ten minutes of that quarter and the ball didn't go into our half.  It doesn't help when every kick out of defence seemed to find a Swans player.  They were all over us and should be in front.

Half Time: Casey Demons 4.8.32 to Sydney Swans 4.5.29

Goals Weideman 3 Grey

Disposals Rivers 16 Baker 13 Munro 12 Ellison Melksham 10

The ball hardly crossed into the Demons forward line in the second half of the quarter.

Ground speakers playing Skyhooks “Livin in the 70’s” as I sit here feeling as if it’s just that. Spooky!

so this game is going to finish over an hour before the main game.

So much for curtain raisers

what did the gap used to be?

i remember seeing a few vfl / afl reserves games back in the late 80s and early 90s and it was never anything quite like that sort of gap between the magoos and the seniors

Here's hoping tonight isn't a "Horror Movie" for Demon fans.

Indeed. Is so quiet now, I can hear Balwyn calling.

about 15 -20 minutes top.

In the 80's the seconds would clap the firsts onto the field and then head up the race.

Generally the last quarter was watched by very close to the match day crowd

Beautiful work from Ellison on the wing... loved the leap pack crunch from JVR.  Moniz all class waiting for the crumb for his 2nd....this kid!

Moniz HB to Dunstan to Melk and then White ....yipeee

George Grey snaps his second.

My bad!

For anyone watching - are Weeds marking and goals impressive or easy goals/free kicks?

Well Munro aint gonna be happy with that

he's working the f50 perfectly, just as he always does as the main option

he and sideshow bob essentially play the same role - it's no surprise that they struggle to gel as a key forward combination

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
