Can we discuss how underrated is Clarry inside the AFL world (supporters, media and 'experts')?

If he maintains his current form, it would be a travesty not to give him the Brownlow.

Cracking pod again this week fellas.

Are you planning on doing a mid season review again this year?

Also I'm quite sure that with the exception of Gus and Gawny you fellas are the only Dees podcast to have interviewed Adem Yze. Great interview Btw

Yes we always do a mid-season review in the Bye week so expect it around about then.

I promise not to do a ladder predictor this year. Yikes.

@Terrance Langley you can find our interview with Adem Yze here: https://demonland.com/yze/

Another ripping poddy ……. Thanks guys!

Great stuff again boys. Just not sure where your ideas on Ed Langdon’s injury status comes from @george_on_the_outer. No rib fracture, no lung damage, confirmed by the club. He is also listed as ‘test’. This means if he trains without hindrance, he’ll play. They would have no reason to obfuscate on this.

I might have mistakenly thought that no internal damage meant no puncture to the lungs or any other organs and even perhaps no break of the ribs. What wasn't clear by that statement was whether there was any small fractures or severe bruising that might hinder him from playing. I'm doubtful he will play but that just might be my MFCSS creeping in.

I'm glad I picked him to play.

Ed's not because it almost certainly means hw won't.

Spot on analysis again guys. It's my go to Demons podcast each week. Living abroad and unable to get such indepth analysis of Dees matches except from clips here and there on social media I really rely heavily on your podcast to sort the wheat from the chaff. Thanks to all involved.

Surely not, Andy! 😉. As to injury reportage from the club, I’d be more suspicious of the term ‘awareness’, as in hamstring awareness. Makes me giggle every time, one of those pointless footy euphemisms that’s meant to calm concern, but is obviously uncomfortable tightness or just pain.

Also loved your podcast’s Clarry love and comparative stats, appreciation of Tom Sparrow (ps to binman, I reckon he’s actually one of the fastest over 30m at the club) and @binman’s sooo well deserved David King takedown. Oh, and the Adem Yze interview was a winner. Easily the best Dees podcast out there!

Such an enjoyable podcast - the tactical insight is so interesting to listen to.

I also listen to the DeeBrief podcast, which is a different take to Demonland - great to have alternative views of the same game. They also did an interview with Adem Yze a few weeks ago.

I think you might be confusing it with their interview with Alan Richardson.

Just looked back at their episodes - you’re quite right, my apologies: I must have been living in an alternate universe for a few days!

Great podcast as usual and a must listen every week. I agree this is the best technical podcast about AFL out there and puts the shallow views of the so-called professionals in the shade.

Also I agree with the David King takedown. His problem is his mouth gets in front of his brain. His expressed views are inconsistent & superficial.  I was particularly disappointed with King's promotion of the potential introduction of mid-season trading with absolutely no nuanced discussion of the pros & cons. Following is the analysis that King wasn't interested in and/or able to make:

Thanks for the kind words about the podcast guys. We do put a lot of effort into the format and runsheet each week.

The best way you all can help us out is by jumping on Apple Podcasts (or any other podcasting apps) and leaving a favourable review for us.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
