Triple M's the cheif said that godfrey was pumping his fist in the air while he kicked a goal in the last qtr with half way to go.

i didnt see it but im just saying what the cheif said

and while he was kicking that goal they were 50 points down

shouldnt you pump your fist while your team is actually in the game????

no he didn't pump his fist as i saw it on telly just having his hand up for a high five. The chief is useless

so is godfrey

I'm sick of people having a go at godfrey!! in a game where we got smashed he was one that kept trying and trying... sure he's never going to have the skills of a chris judd but he turns up week in and week out and bleeds red and blue!! A LOT of other player could learn from his example!!

Lay off him because he is doing our team a lot more good that most of the other players on the list!

I agree

i mean i didnt mean to pick on him about the fist because i didnt see it

but i went to the game last week and he played fine

i saw half the game today and he played alright

I saw davey play today and i see only half the comments of critisizing on him than godders

I think he was just in shock that he actually put one the sticks...

Godfrey didnt kick a goal today, did he?

ill pick on anyone who i deem to be a waste of time in the melbourne jumper, so he tries and i agree id love to see some try as much as he does, but he has terrible decision making and skills. and since this post is about godfrey ill have my opinion on him in this topic

It really frustrates me to see supporters jump on things like this. He's barely kicked a goal in his career, and put one through on his wrong foot - and we all know how good his preferred foot is.

It reminds me a bit of a post I read about seeing some Melbourne players having a good time over the off-season after we lost the 2000 grand final. The gist was that because we'd lost the grand final they had nothing to smile about.

anytime godfrey kicks a goal is a fistpumping time because he doesn't do it much

A massive heart that plays with passion...

Yes he may turn the ball over, make a bad decision but he plays every game as though it is his last....

A few of our "higher" paid players may want to look at this....

Hard work and not talent has got Godders to where he is....

He's kicked 3 goals in 3 rounds this year.

Perhaps he's worth a nibble at the TAB for Coleman Medalist

so is godfrey

Yep. I hate having players in my team that actually play to win and be successful, rather than JUST for a paycheque.

because im sure that thats all the rest of the team want to do is play for money!

as i have said before the guy tries and i admire him for that...BUT

his skills are terrible, he turns the ball over too often, he isnt a tagger anymore and if they try him as one he gets slaughtered (crawford last week), we have too many unskilled players in the one side,

and last but the most important one of all

he takes a spot from the likes of CJ or petterd who can and will be much better players

I like CJ, but he was a liability last week and had to be dropped. Godders wasn't a liability.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
