Oliver and Petracca are like having two Martins or two Bontempellis, or one of each.

Or, as Robbo put it in his top 50 players list, having Clarry and Trac is like having Batman and Batman.

Only thing I ever agreed with him on.

Closer to the  latter but Oliver does not have the break away strength of Bont.

His handball receives and gives over his shoulders is sublime as well as his ability to work in confined space.

There's no doubt we took a little out of Dog's 2016 handball handbook into our 2021 season and boy did it work.

Petracca's ability to break clear and deliver or shoot in an unhurried manner is sheer brilliance

I would argue that he has more break away than Bont!

Could not disagree more.

If you want more evidence to prove this further then go watch the Grand Final again.

Bontempelli cruises out from stoppages like Pendlebury and uses his football smarts in getting around his opponents.

Oliver's ability to explode from the stoppages and break away with speed and power is more significant then Bont.

With a lifetime of watching footy and the Dees both the Bont and Clarry are two of the best footballers I have seen.

They have similarities and differences but they are both great players.

Would not even try and seperate them.

Clarry and Tracca win more of their own ball in contested situations and do more harm than Bont.

I refer to the goals from the centre in the second half of the GF, the ultimate stage on which to perform.

Powerful and sublime.

Contested possessions 2021.
Oliver, Ist with 434.  Petracca, 3rd with 349. Bontempelli, 12th with 291.

Oliver fixes up Bont in our serge to our first premiership in 57 years. Not only does he negate him when it counted most he also dominated himself at the same time.

Lots of posters say nobody surpasses Flower. We will find out in the next few years and my hunch is Oliver will.

When we drafted that fat redhead kld way too early in the draft there is not a single poster on Demonland who could have imagined we would be trying to compare him to Flower a few years later.

Says it all! CLARRY CLEARLY NO 1

player in the competition!

Trac and Clarry are phenomenal footballers. The best double act in the league by far

Max, Trac and Clarry were AA this year and Viney’s finals form was A-grade. There’s no better centre bounce quartet going around. No other unit comes close. And that’s before you consider Dogga rotating with Maxy

We are truly blessed

I was fairly confident we had found a good one

The good players hunt the ball. When Clarry is “in the zone” he is the best.
Tracc and LJ are in the same situation

Flower played the same way, particularly for The Big V

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
