He looks so composed. Love his game.

Bowey's smart handball, bouncing it below some other players and straight into the recipient's arms was beautiful. Can't remember to whom and when sorry.

Love Harmes, but boy, gee, wow, selfish.

Petty has started to become much more comfortable in taking the game on.

He was very hesitant for a while there and made a lot of mistakes but his last 2 or 3 games have been outstanding.

And to think he would have been still at Casey but for an injury.

Good to see your in better spirits old dee???

In the search for better spirits than the one my wife bought me (Johnny Walker), I lashed out to buy my clan scotch, Talisker, and it sits staring at me to break the seal. It will have to wait until finals time and then, it's another empty bottle for the rubbish recycling. This should be a tempting September ...

Hell open it now and buy another one come  September.

Another pleasing aspect of Dogga’s career best performance yesterday was playing opposite Rowell and Anderson pick 1&2 from the 2019 draft . Really glad the AFL shafted us by handing GC a priority pick and we got LJ at Pick 3 instead , that being said I’m sure those other two will go alright in their careers too. But very happy LJ had a day out yesterday

It would no longer be so special to me if I did that on the spur, old dee. It was procured for the purposes of equal pleasure - as absolutely very special - when the Demons hit the finals series and clear out some of the trash that appears alongside us in the top eight. I dream of the uninterfered-with games ahead when the AFL/umpires cannot disadvantage us as they have across several years now, establishing before the first bounce the outcomes of games competed with open hearts and integrity.

Rest assured, the seal will be broken to celebrate key aspects of the coming weeks.  :-)

A point of some notability raised here, Delusional D. Well done.

Ideal preparation for an AFL game.

I expect WC has a similar preparation since they've been in Melbourne too.

I think they get to quarantine at home, which is a bit better than doing it at a hotel surrounded by your work colleagues for 7 days straight. But nevertheless, we both have to travel to Perth so it does even out.

I've mentioned this before but yesterday was just more evidence that the Suns are a soulless, pathetic waste of time and money. The sooner the AFL pull the plug on this doomed experiment the better. They are just throwing good money after bad

You can say the same thing about GWS. A list literally bursting with talent that can't be bothered to even make finals.

Absolutely woeful both of these clubs. And the fact that they are manufactured soulless franchises means nobody cares if they win or lose and there is no heat on them or any accountability to improve.

They are just sucking talents out of a limited pool of juniors. Drop them both and put a team in Tassie and they will have more signed up members in the first week.

Things I took away from the game:

1. Bowey is going to be so crucial to our team in the next few years (his hands are so clean)

2. Sparrow needs to work on his fundamentals

3. Oliver is actually insanely good and needs more credit for what he does (if he can hit the scoreboard more I will have so much more confidence in him taking us to a flag)

4. Harmes and Viney both need to stop thinking they're Chris Judd - play within your limitations, please

A real positive from the games two changes are that it put the whole team on notice. No one wants to miss selection for finals.

Bowey's first up was good.

When u get to your next bottle Deemania I would definitely recommend you try the belvanie doublewood, it’s a lot smoother than a talisker (not that’s there’s anything wrong with a peaty talisker btw) and goes down very nicely while perusing the post match thread on DL after a night game dees win.

To be enjoyed all season long , especially during lockdowns

Just finished watching the game. Very impressed by Demon intensity but...:

- Harmes and Viney need to learn to play within their limits. It may be too late for Viney...

- Sparrow seems to be playing without confidence. I guess that might be a corollary of having to prove yourself every game.

I'll add Mortlach 14yo, truly marvellous drop. Dufftown should be a very proud town...

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
