Interesting pre game chat on kayo.

......if defence wins premierships are Demons in the box seat?

Yes.

But I really hope we can get a fwd line that can score high before finals.

God I love how many little mini-Dees I’m seeing. It warms my ❤️ and ? heart.

It helps when it's not embarrassing to wear the team colors around.

Makes for a better relationship with the kids when they are not being dragged against their wills to watch a losing team every week.

Looks like we are wearing our 2021 Indigenous Guernsey today.

Leagues best indigenous guernsey.

Would be happy to see it every week.

I just spotted a Giants supporter! I swear I’m not lying. Ima take a blurry pic of him and send it into Paranormal Caught on Camera.

Crisis actor.

This game is so so important. Lose this and drop the Port game next week we will most likely be sitting 5th. Need to put them away early.

I spotted one in the MCC members. There are also about 15 behind the goals

And he is.

In the likely conditions that is a good selection.

The crowd reminds me of our bad days when not many came.

I guess with reserved seats people can come in last minute.

Aside from obviously just wanting a win, can we kick straighter, a 14.8 or 15.10 would be terrific vs the usual 9.14! It means we keep Giants to 10.7 and have a comfortable 4-5 goal win.

Kudos to Binman and others for your strategic analysis that I really enjoy, but FFS can the Dees just start kicking more goals than points, and that will be about the greatest strategic improvement we can make in the run home!

Think about it, 2 more goals rather than points per round and we have 140 more points onto our percentage, so would be sitting at 148%, have another win (Crows) so would be 13-1.

My wish is for Demons to kick straighter!!!!!

Plus generally keep winning and win the flag(Tokyo Olympics bringing nice symmetry with 64)!

We need a Ben Brown type of forward to help straighten us up I reckon.  That would be handy.

We are the fourth highest scoring team in the competition.

And the 2nd best defence.

What more do you want?

GWS with no banner. Banned from coming across the border?

Yeah I guess no one can come over just for the game so I wonder if the 15 or so behind the goals are Melbourne based fans or family members.

“Testing 1 TWO..1 TWO…TWO…”

Just get the job done Demons, strong start and dictate the game. Kick accurately at goal, please!!

”Let’s Go…”

Heres hoping its Kozzies day out.

Agree Toby G is the danger man. Hibbo probably gets first crack at shutting him down.

Surprised a local club didn't make one for them like the swans did for us.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
