I was hoping he would assume the senior position at Melbourne as he is the primary reason for the clubs success this season.

I'd rather sack goodwin and promote yze if im being honest. the improvement of 2021 seems to come directly off the back of yze and williams joining. With the same list it cant be coincidental.

Could have just added to the facepalm emojis. But I thought it best to quote you both again for SEO purposes and the best chance that your moronic posts come up at the top of the Google search rankings in perpetuity.

Some people on this forum are clearly just looking for every possible excuse to pretend that Goodwin has nothing to do with the team's improvement this season. Just wait for their 'I told you so' moment once we lose a couple of games.

I really don't think we need an 'I told you so' moment. The I told you so moment is underperforming for 2 years straight with what many believed was a top 4 list and similar to the list we have now. I can tell you one thing, that wasn't Yze's fault! The success we have now only further proves just how poorly Goodwin was coaching the previous 2 years.

Lewis just says things to get a headline, as he is trying to make a name for himself. Nothing more, nothing less.

I actually hate his media work. Comes across as a smug know it all and actually talks a fair bit of dribble. This is just another example.

What impact do you think injuries had (if any) on performance in 2019?

Further, what impact did a greater than the mean/median travel schedule than the rest of the clubs (and injuries to key players) have on performance (if any) in 2020?

How is endorsing not only a former colleague, but a friend to becoming a senior coach, something Yze has been publicly stated he wants to do in the future "fair bit of dribble"..?

Not only is the title misleading, but all the panellist  including Lewis were asked who'd they'd look as for senior coach. Lewis said Yze and Brad Johnson said Peter Sumich.

Amazing how people get triggered by the smallest things.... this is just another example.

I don't think saying Yze is a good coach is dribble. And during the bad times he always said Goodwin could coach so his record is solid in this area. He seems to know what he's talking about.

I think you need a different purpose in life other than bagging Goodwin.

They had a major effect on the teams performance, you cannot have so many sidelined during preseason and expect to perform well, add on the many injuries during the season and there was no chance the team was going anywhere.

There's a difference between a list and development. It's far from surprising that you don't credit maturity and humility as factors in our rise.

Take the pick of which to which club but my thinking is Clarkson to Collingwood and Lyon to Carlton.

I wish both clubs a miserable futures full of failure.

I hope that is not being too unkind.

Not at all. Probably the view of fans of all the other clubs in the AFL.

And shorter games and a shorter season, we were coming good save a few hiccups and ran out of rounds.

Agree. I think that if we had a complete season in 2020 we would've been well placed to make the finals given that the momentum appeared to be going our way in the last two rounds.

Collingwood footy manager (I think) just on 3AW saying the rebuild is a 3-5 year process.

Interesting timeline and you wonder if fans will buy in not to mention players at say age 25.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
