Lions will do the world a favor by belting the Tigers tonight.   Isnt it a bloody shame that Richmond snuck in over GWS last week..  they could have been 4-6 after tonight.  Now a chance to be 6-4 grrrr

And now its time for the first ever installment of............

P2J's upset of the week

The low on confidence but ultra talented Gold Coast Suns to get their [censored] together and pull off a miracle down at Geelong.

was going to tip gw$ but saw that jesse is out for 6 weeks with a calf; that boy is not made for afl-level footy

I though Jesse looked over weight and underdone fitness wise, so it appears GWS/Jesse seem to have rolled the dice coming in as soon as he did. Calf injury is possibly a let off.
Hope  they can get him fully fit over the off season.

The focus has all been on the Dogs but I think the game v the Lions in the Alice is the tougher of our upcoming 2 games. I don’t like the run the Lions are on so I wouldn’t mind seeing Lynch, the Nank et al softening them up tonight.

I think he was head knocked at birth

Clearly not enough. He’s still alive and kicking.

Rance would’ve earned himself an All Australian jumper with that mark that Balta just took.

Certainly not worried about Brisbane whilst Daniher is in the side.

Great focal point and 'has' the capacity to kick goals from 25m and closer... but not beyond. Joe's had numerous years of knowledge and evidence that he is inconsistent. I expect this to get more pronounced as this season in particular, but his career as well, in Brisbane continues.

He looks like a guy who wants to get those kicks over and done with.

And then the soul destroying goal at the other end....

Can I just ask if our Alice Springs game v lions is a home game for us?

Im sure it is and we are financially compensated for it.

I would be keen if mods could do a survey on if this is a good idea.

Especially after Goody wants it to be fortress Mcg. Its contrary to this view.

Also its not like a trip to Sydney or Canberra. Its a fair distance.

Given we play eight away games including kardinia but not the ones at marvel( whick is the mist for vic clubs)... im wondering if we just forgo the $ or whatever and keep our eyes on the ultimate prize...a flag.

Also given how covid has stopped so many in melb last year seeing live footy...why play up there ?

Isn’t he 26?

Tiggas aren’t wasting opportunities like bears

26 is young to me. ?

Methinks a thumping might be in the offing, the Tiges being on the receiving end. With or without the umpires’ help.  ??

The bears are only 7 points up on the scoreboard but in general play they are dominating. 7 or 8 more shots on goal.

The Lions should smash them from here, but they need to kick straight.

Mathieson needs to be added to the list of punchable heads. ?

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
