Don't really see the Lions at 10th either

Whose midfield would you prefer: GWS (11th) or Essendon (12th)?

So Norf has the second best midfield, and 6th overall lock them in for the 8 then

lions 10th Essendon 9th

i swear champion data brings these lists out each year to take the [censored]

Glenn Luff was pretty high up at Champion Data and is now Norths list manager, guess Champion Data are either looking after him, or setting him up as a failure? ??

How is the Giants midfield ranked 12th?! They just made the grand final off the back of a ridiculous midfield. Taranto, Kelly, Coniglio, Whitfield, Hopper, DeBoer, Ward, Williams, with youngsters Ash, Caldwell, Hately, Langdon, Hill all likely to push for game time also. It didn’t stand up on the day it counted, but their midfield is comfortably top 4, probably the best IMO.

I’ve never been overly critical of champion data stuff in the past because I understand it’s all pure stats, but even so it seems they [censored] this up.

Didn't you know stats don't lie. Interpreting them, that's another matter, using them to predict the future? Well that's a bit of black magic.

In a past life I got talking to a statistician in the "bull-ring' (the Courtyard in the Old Magistrates Court in Melbourne). He had been called as an expert witness in a case and we were discussing the likelihood of something occurring. During proceedings he had been asked the  chances of something occurring and he gave evidence that what had occurred was a once in 10000yr event (from his statistical modeling).

I asked what happens now? (Thinking we were safe for however much of the 10000yrs were left). He told me no, the clock resets and we start a new 10000yrs because we had an event. My follow up question? What's the likelihood of the same thing happening in the next few years? He replied, "well that would be within the 10000yrs"

There is no way that North have a better list than Carlton, and at that a significantly better midfield.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
