Watching Eddie and his media cronies collective heads exploding on the agenda setters was glorious tv

If we move out of Goschs without having Caulfield and move to Waverley, all urgency from the AFL and Govt to get Goschs disappears and we could be stuck at Waverley for years and years.

Rather be stuck at Waverley than the disjointed arrangement with the ivory tower at the mcg which has been the reason we have never been able to find a home

Why would you leave where you are, for somewhere that you don't want to be permanently, if leaving takes out bargaining power you might have, that helps you get to where you want to be permanently?

That is the bearing they have on one another, bargaining power.

All good Mr Leg. You seem a bit more confident than myself here.

What if the media skuttlebutt ends up being accurate and the MRC refuses to budge on the reno which will supposedly shut down the track for 12 months? Ie; the MRC doesn't want to close up shop and that's the end of our bid.

Potentially we'll have nothing to show after how many years working on this proposal? Let alone the others that fell through prior.

Ive given this some considerable thought. How much weight anyone should apportion... well...

I understand the attraction of 'all under one roof' But do we simply go 'somewhere' because it might afford that ?

Do we stay put until our preferred choice comes to fruition ? ( šŸ¤” if )

Context is both a wonderful thing and really the only metric.

Waverley offers something.... and yet is very much a compromise.

Goschs... certainly not ideal.... not totally unworkable either. But Gosch’s does provide something .. accessibility.

The more I think about it the more Waverley is a pig in a poke. I can see why the Sqawkers left.

In the classic vernacular...is Gosch’s 'broke' ... does it need fixing ?

Ideal ? NO.. Broke ? No... it's effective.

Thinking.....šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤” Do nothing 'cept push forward to Caulfield

Just my 5c

Ur Candour is not lost on me! Hawks won premierships based at Waverley...

Why not us, Caulfield is... but a pipedream!

The context to consider..possibly...

Hawks had Glenferrie . Now I have mixed memberances of that place... but I did love the old suburban feel. [censored] of a place though.

I get why they left THERE. Waverley undoubtedly better for them.

Would it really be THAT much better for...us ?

Just to get Admin all cozy ?

Really

🤷

We are the most disconnected club in the AFL, you think Roffey had a feel of what was going on in the footy dept & the playing group…you think any player or coaching staff can simply go and talk face to face from Casey or Aami park.. it’s beyond admin feeling cosy

Some things are more idyllic in want than actually necessary.

I love how everyone thinks they know what's going on in the board room and even the discussions with all the people involved in the Caulfield deal, it's hilarious.

Eg only using Carlton as an example as I have had a number of work conferences and you walk in and you see all their premiership cups on display, etc etc it’s their home, I’ve been a member 30 and supporter since 72, I visited the mcg for the 21 premiership cup and had to park east Melb to walk through a park… enough said

That stops us training ?

Get your hand off it ffs

Here's a novel thought Right outa left field ..approach St. Kevins Toorak redevelop their far oval near train line. Turn into a state of the art facility with lights ,make it our base we get exclusive use but they get a state of the art facility with added benefit with coaching and player availability to facilitate their footy program!

Like your thinking...but

No private school is going to do that.

If i have to explain why...you dont understand their property strategy šŸ˜‰

MFC needs to develop their own home.

No it doesn't but why are all the 17 teams have all their club under 1 roof, why did hawthorn built a new base, we are possibly last in the comp, but hey keep on doing the same and hope for a different result, good luck attract marquee players to travel to Casey

I was really saying in answer to Pickett it is not a mirage.

It is achievable and a bit of compromise or ingenuity could see it happen.

I understand the desire for a proper home. God knows it's long overdue.

Do you seriously ( not sarcasm ) think The Tip at Dingly drags the elite there ?

Waverley would not particularly advantage the players . It might have some allure for Admin. Admin dont take the field so they must logically come after the needs of the players ?

Is Gosch’s ideal. Of course not. But imho its not driving talent away.

I would think ( pure supposition) that by this season's end we'll know what were doing. Without doubt the wait is frustrating. I don’t for one second give any legitimacy to the rubbish the likes of Betsy propagate but there is obviously some impediment currently. ( and strangely i dont think it's money )

But here we are wanting and waiting. Still.

I find it curious that we have looked at Waverley, and quite seriously yet we dont seem as keen as some suggest. Or we'd be there. We're not. There must be elements that the club understands and gives weight to that tip the scales towards staying put for the present. šŸ¤”šŸ¤·
