The official site has listed the Maroochydore Open Training Session as Sunday February 2nd 2020. I assume the Training Camp starts the week prior. Anyone have any official dates for the camp and are any of our Sunshine Coast fans planning on attending open session? We’d of course appreciate any reports.

Maroochydore open training

Date: Sunday, February 2
Start time: 9.30am
Location: Maroochydore Multi-Sports Complex. Fishermans Road, Maroochydore.

I don’t know why exactly - but I always enjoy reading the reports and seeing the pics from the Maroochydore Training Camp each year.

It seems always to be a happy and positive time.

I don’t understand why they just can’t keep it on the Saturday.

We have had it on Friday, Saturday and now Sunday.

Just leave it on Saturday. Why is it so hard!

Surely the weekend is better than the Friday

That’s true but Sunday is a pain in the [censored] as traffic is generally a lot worse on the highway going back towards Brisbane.

If it's on the Sunday, it will be the first I've missed since the Maroochydore camp began. Damn it!

Sounds like I'm in the minority but I'm actually glad its a Sunday. Friday is a work/school day and Saturday would stop a lot of kids attending, mine included,, due to Saturday sport commitments. Have missed the last two years due to the open session being on Friday/Saturday so looking mighty forward to it now.

Agree then you can spend rest of day on Sunny Coast with family or if want to beat traffic back to Brisbane go after training. Not much traffic south at that time.

Hi, does anyone know the latest with the timing of the training camp?
I’m in the Sunshine Coast until Saturday 1st February. Love to see the boys train, even if it’s a brief moment or closed session.

Training session for supporters is on the Sunday 2nd Feb At  Mooroochydore Sports Complex at 9.30 am I think.

Go to our website  "melbournefc.com.au"and check Yherr is s notice from about 7-10 days ago if not ring Club snd AFL details.

Seeing you will miss the open training on Sunday I would keep an eye open on the website for twitter details etc as they normally go to the Maroochy FC every 2nd day so you could pop along as its a big open complex. Also maybe as a tourist go along to Twin Waters where I assume they will be staying as in past and you may catch them wondering around doing their stuff.

Are we expecting a Captaincy announcement after this? Surely they'll do the voting up there, if they haven't already.

Facilities at Maroochydore seem rather primeval, love the corrugated iron and rainforest look. Plently of Johnny Weissmuller types in the wings too! Are the boys able to fraternise with the locals up there? When does Jane make her appearance?

Not exactly state of the art facilities.

And Adam Tomlinson lifting weights in birkenstocks???

Hmmmm........

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
