I have read his posts and responses for many years.  My impression is that this all started when he posted what many saw as reports seen through overly rose-coloured glasses.  Which is his right, and readers are free to discount or credit his reports as much as they like.

But while some merely disagreed with him on that, others started to attack him and increasingly rather nastily. And over time he has reacted by becoming snarky in response sometimes.  Sad that it came to that, but not surprising.  I'm not sure how I'd react to such relentless bagging

Personally I read his comments and reports with interest but through dark glasses to counter their rosy colouring.  For some other perennially negative posters I don those dark glasses so that their dark reports almost vanish.  Preserving sanity as a MFC supporter is important.

That's my recollection as well and some of it was scathing, belittling and could be catagorised as bullying. The mods really had to tighten up on it. I always found it interesting that many of the perpetrators never attended training and would get really annoyed when Saty said he knew (insert whatever) because he had spoken to a coach or player directly. As time has moved on I have noticed that Saty will wind up or bait a few of them and they cannot help themselves. Sad, but strangely amusing at the same time. The irony of a group of people whinging about a Pom who is way to positive in his reporting and looks through rose coloured glasses.

On another note I use to talk to the old Property Manager who worked through all the Daniher years. I think it was 2007 he told me he didn't think we would do any good that year because the tackle bags weren't brought out until the end of January.

He was dead right.

I think we were celebrating our 4th win that year.....

in round 19.

My GUESS is 9 am.

They have been doing 3 hr sessions. If 10.30 start then lunch is on late.

I assume the club would want to make activities as routine as possible, unless they shake it up to reduce boredom. I don't think it is that time yet.

Blair Campbell didn’t play for long, but he left a lasting legacy on our game. He is credited with initiating the boomerang / banana / check side kick when shooting for goal.

Blair Campbell also ran the Sunday afternoon Hedgeley Dene footy comp for local kids!

I very much doubt that any coach or fitness coach would have you only doing running for the first 6 to 7 weeks of preseason. I attended training for 10 years straight back in 1987 to 1997 and they certainly didn't do it then.I realize dazzledavey is referring to Neeld but I heard nothing of that.

I seem to recall some clubs not using footballs as part of their training until after Christmas. This was probably in the 1990s or perhaps 2000s. I can't remember whether the clubs who used that strategy did well or not, though.

If that were the case, Forest Gumps' mother would have some advice for them " Stupid is as Stupid does"

I recall the same.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was us.

I played on Cambell Brown once .....I complained to the coach at the time  Glenhuntly Reservers   Federat league   probably Pat Sheedy   and he said bob,  you will never play on a better player in your life !   follow him and enjoy it,    and he was right     never forgot that I played on a VFL quality player. I think it was only for 3 quarters,   the memoery dims....but I have not forgotten that game    thanks Pat..

To be fair.
I'm sure we would've been following some trend of the time though.
Cause that's what we do.
