What to do with Pick 10?

Would be pretty happy with Stephens. Knightmares latest update on his thread on Bigfooty suggests that Carlton are pretty keen on Weightman at 9. The 1st round in this draft is more fluid than any other i can remember.

One of Kemp, Stephens, Young, Serong could possibly get through to our pick it seems.

Carlton want another small forward for sure. i personally think they're more likely to grab Serong but i think it's mostly guess work at this point.

I think there is a serious possibility Adelaide or Fremantle could jump at 6 or 7 and grab Stephens. hopefully opening the door for Young to somehow slide to 10.

Pretty happy with whatever we do. Not sold on Jackson but if he can play forward until a ruck spot opens up I'm happy with that. Stephens is a good pick at 10 the runner we need. Hopefully Pickett is still available at pick 28 that would suit me fine.

Young wont be going that late imo.   Top 5 surely.

Might be targeting Weightman or Stephens.  Weightman seems the most logical as we were looking for similar in Elliot.

Would much rather Ash if we aren't taking Young but unlikely he will get through to 10.

Taylor, Pickett or potentially Williams at 28 if the former two are gone by then but would want to be sure re Willams' given his history of a back issue.

If we want Weightman it makes sense to split that pick with the Cats. and upgrade 28 - 17 and still get the same player.

Then the Cats take Brodie Kemp and he becomes the next Joel Selwood and they never fallout of premiership contention.

Its all  too predictable

From the Herald Sun:

"The Demons are also looking to trade their no.10 choice for two picks, which could come in the teens and early 20s."

Says leading contenders for our 10 are Geelong, Port & Gold Coast"..

Port has best option 12 and 18 for 10 and 28

Pick 10 will most likely end up as pick 12 on draft night after academy bids. Likewise 28 will push out to at least 30, possibly 31 or 32 depending on bids on Maginness and Mead.

A theoretical trade with Geelong will see 12 and 30 become 16 and 19 (possibly 20 for Maginness).

12, 30-32

vs

16, 19-20

Not sure which one I like best to be honest.

I'd be surprises if the Cats did 14 and 17 for 10 and 28, and I'm not sold on us trading 10 for 14 and 24. Means something like Weightman and Pickett instead of Kemp/Stephens/Serong.

It will be interesting if any mooted trade happens today or Wednesday. If Wednesday you'd think we have more bargaining power, given teams will know for sure who is left.

Personally i haven't seen anyone who looks anything like a Selwood from this draft.  Might have missed someone but i reckon your safe JSK

If anything, it's Robertson that's drawn the Selwood comparisons. And he won't make it to Geelong now Freo have 7 and 8.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
