Well it's a silly opinion. Measuring who gets a holiday by how hard you perceive someone has worked throughout the year and merits time off.

You'd be a hit on the coaching panel.

Stick to singing ? depressing songs in the English weather Morrissey.

I don’t care what you think concerning my posts.

If you are happy with Jack Viney’s season then you have low standards of output

Might be tricky to build into the CBA

No, easy. All players wanting to take leave must apply to the WYL Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

A very good and most innovative idea ? MR

Most players get off during a final series. Steve O'Dwyer was about the only one who has ever been done. It further proves what a sick institution AFL is.

" The AFL’s case did not make reference to Greene making contact with Bontempelli’s eyes "

Strange... the media were full of the eye gouging story this morning.

Overt thuggery, player vulnerable on the ground, bringing the game into disrepute, close up for all the kids on prime time TV, strong track record for violence and sniping throughout the career, for a franchise club moving into week 2 of the finals = a fine.

Incidental contact, in the flow of play, maybe late, maybe not (Melbourne player, as an example Steven May in the JLT says hello) = 2 weeks...........

Gotta love the frauds in the AFL who run (ruin) our game.

Outrageous decision concerning Greene.

Having had a fair amount of eye surgery over the years

Corruption at the highest level on the Sporting front.

Disgusted

Greene gets to play next week

Come on, was there any doubt whatsoever? After the Captain Cotchin episode?

In the year 2019, the AFL does not even need to implicity threaten withdrawal of media credentials. It's simply understood.

I was by no means happy with the team's output this season, but I'll be blowed if I'm going to extend the complaining to Jack Viney eating an ice cream on holiday, or thinking that denying them a break would help

And if I need to feel depressed I can just come on here and read more than 36,000 of your posts, 99.9% of which are negative. You should take a break for your own well-being. Constant and relentless negativity isn't good for you or anyone else.

If you feel the need to come on here and make 20 posts a day that are complaining and carping about this football club, you should also question the influence supporters like you are having on how the Melbourne Football Club is regarded and the reason it might be considered "irrelevant". Although, luckily, some keyboard warrior on Demonland is hardly relevant or influential either.

When the club's own supporters are overwhelmingly and relentlessly bleating, what hope have we got of ever being positive about the future of this great club?

Devastating answer, which bit of 'you are a tiresome whiner', don't you get

You are like a broken record in every thread

Everybody acknowledges we had a rubbish season, looking with interest on how we are going to turn it around, but don't need to keep returning to the past

Would love to be looking forward to a final this weekend, but ain't gonna happen, so will find something else to do

He's not bad is he though.

I was reading he's been charged 16 times and received a total of 6 weeks suspension.

Protected species throughout his career.

Unfortunately, you don't get to determine who I respond to on Demonland.

Correct. So deal with other people’s opinions.

You are just another happy clapper who will accept whatever swill the club throws your way

Just looked at the AFL website.  Talk about burying the news.

You really do need to lighten up Greta, this is just a game

Like @mauriesy said it's not good being negative all the time

And you expected Greene to be suspended during finals, as if

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
