If St Kilda had kicked better for goal we would have lost that game by 8 - 10 goals. We were dreadful for most of the night and unfortunately half of our current side is not AFL standard, including some big names (starting with Lever).

Under your "theory" does every player in the AFL have the same level of skill? So there's no difference between Patrick Dangerfield or Jordan DeGoey and the 44th player on the Gold Coast Suns list?

If you don't recognise that, I guess you won't admit that having to bring a significant number players into your team who are not normally in your best 22 will have an effect. For an illustration, look at Colingwood's current injury list and  the downturn in their play.

No matter who comes in Maurice’s they should still be able to kick and handball to a teammate and not turn it over as much. It’s BASIC FOOTY SKILLS. 

Had the 30 second countdown expired for Chompers when he was told to play on? Surely he would have been aware it was getting close if it was actually getting close.

It was a pathetic performance considering the average opponent, but the Geelong round 2 loss was by far our worst performance.

Yes. Took far too long and wasn’t watching the clock. 

When a bloke says a player, who has already been named All Australian, is not up to AFL standard, well.... you know that blokes opinion is something to bypass

Nah I'm just willing to acknowledge that while disappointing and frustrating it's not the 20 goal drubbing you would've thought had you only read this website and not actually watched the game.

But they didn't kick straighter. You could use the same argument to say we would've beaten west coast the week before if we kicked straighter. But we didn't and neither did st.kilda. The fact is we were ahead with 10 minutes to go. That's not to say the team played well or to pat them on the back for getting close. But it is acknowledging that the game was up for grabs and not a 100 point demolition that most on here are treating it as.

I don't really understand why, was that the game that blew your fuse? This weekend we will probably lose to the Tigers by minimum 40 points but it wouldn't surprise me to see that blowout even more. Are the same people going to jump on here after that game and regurgitate the same bile about the club ad nauseum? We get it, this year has sucked but are you expecting any different from the rest of the year at this point? I already made up my mind that this year was a dumpster fire when we first lost to the Saints at the G but definitely by the time we lost to Brisbane. What does another loss prove? I will judge the team and club on next year's performances now, the rest of this year is just a write off waiting for the preseason to start.
