A total load of rubbish fork.

And the biggest load of rubbish is the bizarre assertion that he goodies cried 'poor me'. Such a weird rewriting of history and such an obvious illustration of  confirmation bias.

Even Adam Goodes most trenchant crrlitics, especially all the 'hard men' who wont be told they shouldn't boo, surely respect his stoicism and strength in refuing to comment on the controversy, then, since or now. Instructive that he only agreed to the recent doco because it only used archival footage and he declined to be interviewed.

Cried poor? What  a joke. An ironic one too given the pathetic bleating by toss pots and so called hard men like Sam Newman and any number of everday joes. Oh the war dance, how savage. Don't tell us we can't boo him, we'll do whatever we want - my grand pa pa fought for the right for freedom of speech. Don't play the racist card you bunch of pc swjs. Don't tell me I'm racist. It's got nothing to do with race - other aboriginal players never got nooed. We never boo eddy and even like micheal long. Blah. Blah l. Blah. On and on.

Tbe bleating  was and remains truly patethic and is a total embarrassment.

Too right he cried poor me and the ones trying to rewrite history were Goodes and the loud minority bleeding heart Lefties like yourself.
The bleating was and still is carried out by you lot.
Trying to paint is as something that it wasn't.
The silent majority gave him the raspberry first for questionable conduct on the field and then when awarded the AOTY award (for reasons that escape most people), being a divisive antagonist.
Again, nothing to do with his race till he made it so.
But as we know with the Lefties, the pathetic bleating will go on and on, pointing and accusing.
Holier than thou virtue signallers.

Melbourne supporters.
There is footage of "us" giving him a royal booing during a game that I haven't been able to find.
And as I've stated before, I never actually boo'd him.
Though if I was there I would have.

The AFL looked at them and of course called all clear due to their bias towards Brownlow winners and the games .... "Stars."
Richmond supporters had their own reasons that he also got away with.

As for the supposed "War dance."
He could've gone with the traditional emu or kangaroo dances to show his pride in culture in front of his own supporters but instead chose to go with a recently made up one running at opposition supporters brandishing an imaginary spear on National TV.
The booing he got wasn't because of racism till he tried to be the next Nicky Winmar.
Who didn't get boo'd ....
Just reaped what he sowed and then cried poor me when it all blew up in his face.

Simon Godfrey..?  What year was this?

Is that when you think the ‘booing’ started?

You've got the internet at your fingertips, work it for yourself.
But it was before all the BS started.

Much of the bleating, pointing and accusing seems to be coming from you, not the so called lefties that you accuse. I would have loved Goodes to have been a Melbourne player, but he played for Sydney and I thought he was a dirty [censored] (like Chris Judd). I think Goodes is an astute individual and plays his hand well. I do not like booing but have been know to boo bad umpiring decisions. I think a lot of the Goodes later booing was tall poppy syndrome with a hint of racism. I deplore racism.

Listen man.
The pointing and accusing is coming from all those crying racists.
I've stated my reasons I believe it wasn't in previous posts if you want to find them.
Couldn't be forked rehashing for you again.

With the internet at your fingers I'm sure you will be able to find and load lots of examples of goodes 'crying poor' to provide some substance to that claim.

Goodes pointing out that girl in the crowd,  trying to make out his spear thing was some sort of dance people didn't understand, deciding to drop himself for a couple games, retiring and then refusing his lap of honour for retiring players at the "G" were fair examples.

You provided the example - I'm asking for the context of your example.

Godfrey retired 2007, so I'd suggest that your example has absolutely nothing to do with the booing that Goodes received in the last 18 months of his career.

Compelling examples of goodes crying poor me.  You're not a barrister are you?

Being booed for pointing out someone who racially abused him is directly racist.

Being booed for doing a cultural dance deemed unacceptable by white people is directly racist.

Being booed for 'trying to be Nicky Winmar' (ie standing up to racism) is directly racist.

I thought it was solely because he staged for frees and had NOTHING to do with racism?

With due respect, you do not understand what racism is. This is clearly highlighted by your posts. You do not currently have a level of education on this issue to be able to contribute to progressing the discussion.

Planning to watch the documentary Fork 'em, or is your mind already made up (ie. closed)?

With due respect, I am not in agreement with Fork’em on some key points but the sentence you wrote above demonstrates that you don’t understand racism either.

Racism, as exampled the other day in Jeff Kennett’s comments regarding ‘new arrivals’, is present when any kind of blanket statement is made based on someone’s ethnicity or skin colour. You have no idea what a group of so-called “white people” deem unacceptable any more than I know what “Middle Eastern” people deem unacceptable.

How do you know? Did you record interviews with everyone in the crowd at those games? Maybe some did, some didn’t and others couldn’t give a fig, ignored the whole thing and waited for the ridiculously amped up hysteria of it to disappear. Unless you’re fully psychic and possessed of supernatural powers of perception - how would you know?

Anytime I hear a person say “white people”, “black people” or “Asian people” etc or repeatedly use the word “they” with a bent to cast that vaguely described group in some kind of shady, negative light it is absolutely no different than when someone begins a sentence with “I’m not racist but ...”.

In short - try and see the sad irony playing the attack dog against racism while using obviously racist language yourself.

Oh come on Matty, you’re a learned man, a scholar if you will.

Are you aware of the term ‘institutionalised privilege’?  That’s why ‘white people’ is a moot point.

Or in another way...

“I wish I was another race, gender, minority group” - said no western white man ever...

Sorry to ruin your long winded post, but I didn't say all white people.

I'm white, I accepted it.

I was referring to white people that didn't accept the dance and in turn booed him. Which is racist.

Cheers :)

Then you should have said that. Even then it is problematic because you’re referencing a crowd of people who’s ethnicity and background you have no way of determining individually. It is therefore still a blanket statement and still racially charged with labels and preconceived judgments. Using the word “some” furthermore renders your comment meaningless given that “some” is an arbitrary marker with no clearly defined metric. It could mean many, it could mean a few or anywhere else in between.

When it comes to commenting on a matter as sensitive as race, either be precise in your language or be prepared to have the holes in your Swiss cheese logic picked apart like the Demon defence in the first half of 2019.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
