Greg Parke. No. 26? I think. Knockout mark, knuckle man and lousey kick. Just the same, he got his goals. Nabbed almost everything for a slow runner. Tough as nails. Great Demon.

Greg Parke a knuckle man??????

No....As you say,.he was an amazing mark, a wonky kick,and a top-class team player.

Wrong terminology, sorry JC. Actually meant (but in too much of a hurry to do other things at the time) 'pack clearer' using his hips and shoulders to very good effect when needed. Controlled the forward zone like a professional policeman - which he was at the time. On the way to school, a mate and I used to knock his hat off from the tram as he directed traffic in the middle of Camberwell Junction intersection - that is, until he wore an elastic strap on it, hiding his usual smile.

Please don't play Lever this week. He needs at least another game in the VFL, if not two, before being considered.

Yep, he should be aiming for the Fremantle game.

Jake Lever can’t take a trick. He won’t make any excuses. But he’s had an iffy ankle I’m told since Richmond game. Wouldn’t be major, but more post season surgery likely

If that's true, and it's a big if, why the hell are we playing him??

@binman might know.

Oscar was labelled as an out for an ankle, yet Lever plays and apparently needs surgery.

Interesting..

Lever looking better tonight.  Maybe needs footy into him.

Sure, but to what end?

Take him off at half time and straight into surgery.

Seriously, I hope he doesn't miss any preseason...

Our player management is as good as our coaches and the way we are playing.

Its all PATHETIC.

I have never looked more forward to a seasons end as I have this season.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
