Many posts in this thread are hell bent on potting Roos for our trades/recruits and state of our list.

I'm not trying to blame anyone.  Simply pointing out that Taylor and Viney are primarily responsible for List Management/Recruiting and it is unfair bias to focus on Roos who left several years ago. 

As an aside, I happen to think our list is in good shape and that Taylor, Viney, Goodwin and Mahoney all want success and will do whatever they need to do to fix any deficiencies.  Happy to wait till the 2020 season shapes up.

That would be interesting. Unfortunately clubs don’t invest smartly in Footy managers so there’s probably not a huge list of capable replacements.

Ryder has been handy and Lycett has been great. Otherwise I agree. Their kids have been amazing, but the guys that made them think they had a good list - Westhoff, Boak, Ebert, Jonas, Wines, Gray have been great as well. The strength of our list in our top 10 or so players should keep us in good health as long as we can make some smart moves and nail some picks

Balme was a good strategic investment at Richmond, Collingwood were smart in getting Walsh on board after losing him.

I would look at Gubby...he's probably the only one out there with experience and guile to do a good job. Never thought I would say that but...

I reckon we got ahead of ourselves at the back end of 2017. That's cultural and the fact that Lewis has to send an email around to the players to ensure they stayed on target, that to me, speaks volumes for the rest of the leaders and the culture inside the club.

It follows that not a great deal has changed.

100%. Not to say Lewis is immune from criticism here but he is definitely phoning it in this last year. It seriously seems like he's given up trying to be an effective leader with this mob. I'd hazard a guess the likes of Jones, Viney wouldn't have taken kindly to Lewis being brought in for "leadership" purposes. It's kind of an insult to their own capabilities, no?

One moment stood out on Wednesday night. City end, defensive 50. Jones, Viney, Oliver, all goal side. Gawn wins the tap easily into space, Richmond scoops it up and has a shot on goal, albeit for a behind. At the moment I lost my [censored] because you quite literally had the leadership group all in one place (bar Oliver), and they literally handed Richmond an easy shot on goal. 

Some people here just don't see it. Any defensive breakdown, any structural issues: this is as much a complete and utter breakdown of leadership as it is any defensive ineptness in isolation. I don't think it's a surprise that both Oliver and Brayshaw seem to be playing such uninspiring football at the moment. The team and club has been crying out for a changing of the guard for years.

roos can't be blamed for goodwin's decisions. jesus christ! roos just wanted to coach for a couple seasons before doing media full time. Sure he helped in choosing Goodwin as an understudy but he was focused on just coaching us. 8 games ago everyone was cheering roos' name after the finals victories now people are looking to blame him. ffs!

if it wasnt for roos we would never have experienced finals.

We were lacking outside speed last year too,  yet we made a prelim. 

Yes we have needed outside run for years but it's far from our main concern right now.
