No issues with Clarry, we would be in big  trouble without him.

from the highlights it looked like he might have gained some speed over preseason?  he has always had a burst but it looks more pronounced now and lasts longer.

Just watched the highlights of his game on the club website.

The boy is quick. It was very noticeable.   Hes so bloody exciting.

As I have said before, he plays a different game.

Multiple efforts, flat out attack on the ball, repeated exhibition of the quickest hands ever seen, perpetual motion.

He might just be too good for his team mates. In time, they will learn to understand his plays better and will anticipate his delivery.

2020

Great that he caught the eye of the coaches, scoring 4 votes:

10 Patrick Dangerfield (GEEL)
8 Tim Kelly (GEEL)
4 Clayton Oliver (MELB)
3 Jake Kolodjashnij (GEEL)
2 Luke Dahlhaus (GEEL)
2 Tom Stewart (GEEL)
1 Mitch Duncan (GEEL)

From the other votes I'm guessing Goodwin: 3 and Scott: 1.  The other 3 votes went to Kolodjashni who didn't stand out to me on the telecast so I reckon they were from Scott for doing the job assigned to him.

Oliver appears to have a sense of coordination and balance above and beyond that of most football players, and certainly far better than members of the general public. I’ve noticed time and again even when nearly upended, Oliver’s extraordinary sense of balance enables him to know exactly where he is in relation to the often chaotic environment in which he is placed. An extraordinary talent, a talent worth $$$$$ in a few years time!

Oliver is a potentially great kick. I say 'potentially' because we never really see him kick effectively - he just long bombs. Its pretty pointless, not to mention lazy. Oliver should be held to higher standards than others. He needs to find the balance between when to handball, and when to hold onto the footy, find space and execute effectively.

Why do you feel a need to respond like that? I asked a genuine question because I am not familiar with those nicknames.

Neo is a character played by Keanu Reeves in a movie called the Matrix and Stinga was the nickname for 90s MFC midfielder Stephen Tingay. Why l felt the need to respond like I did initially? I've done some self-reflection and I'm genuinely not sure.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
