It's the last Open Session before the 2019 season kicks off. If anyone is heading down we'd love to hear a report particularly regarding who is or more importantly isn't training.

Look out for Aaron vandenberg.

My mail is is that AVB will spend an extended period on the sideline.

That’s really disappointing news. He’d had a great pre season and looked primed.

The feet issues continue.

Damn shame. Just when Vanders seems to have his issues under control, bang, misses another chunk of football. He was flying in the preseason of 2017 also before the foot issue.

Although not ideal, a month or so on the sidelines is better than the 18 months it took him to get back previously. Hopefully it’s not the latter again.

Just get AVB right. His grunt and pressure are exactly what we need out there.

Garlett, Lever, Smith (of the Tim variety) and May in rehab.

Jones, Viney, Harmes, Preuss and Melksham with the main group.

EDIT: Also just saw KK training with the main group.

Keilty and Hunt training with the forwards with the latter just nailing a flat drop punt at goal from 50m. Sounded good off the boot!

This is a good sign at the very least.  If they get through most of it you would assume they'll be right for Saturday.

Joel Smith?

I assume you mean Garlett.

Why is May in the rehab group?

I’m here as well standing where the rehabbers are. He just looks sore. He’s just mainly standing around doing some short kicks with the physio.

Just as I say that he’s doing some laps

Haven't seen him yet.

Also, May now running laps. Doesn't seem too hindered by anything. Can only presume the club is making sure he's 100% for Round 2 against Geelong.

I like the look of Jordan. Just saw him training with the likes of Jones, Petracca and Oliver at the moment in some one on one contested ball drills and can hold his own. Lovely kick as well.

EDIT: And of course as I say that, Clarry nails him in a dynamite tackle. Holding the ball!

Can anyone tell me who's wearing the #43? Definitely not Guy Walker.

Whoever it is, I can't say he'll get a game soon. Just accidently nailed one of the trainers in the hip with a lace out drop punt. That'll leave a bruise.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, there's every chance it could be Lockhart.

Did he look like this?

Yep, that's definitely him. Welcome to the club Jay!

Lever looks closer than 12-16 weeks. Just saw him running at full tilt and snapping at goal. He's also competing comfortably one on one with Tim Smith.

The club is probably just being very conservative in his progress considering its his second ACL.
