Collingwood get a better deal than we do and for more games. History is nice but it doesn't compare to capitalism. We are still the poor relation even though we were born out of the club/ground.

Absolutely. We need to turn that around over the next decade.

Can be done with good onfield performances

The MFC membership is merely a donation on our behalf. In return we get a scarf and a sticker... I understand why MCC members don't buy one. It's like asking people to fork out $85 - $160 extra for the same product with little to no gain in return. If you want our money, then the MFC need to offer dual members extra add ons, or a reduced rate of membership. Hell, even put on a sausage sizzle for dual members one day of the year with a chance to meet the players and i'm sure they will all fork out the extra $85.

As I recall the dual membership used to give access to an evening in the MCC at a function with the coach. I think it was when The Reverend was at the helm. At some point after that they re-jigged the MCC/MFC thing & formed 2 categories

They also gave a free junior MFC membership which was useful. There are a couple of Demon relatives of mine in their late teens, early 20's who were introduced to the MFC with one of these free memberships I'd imagine there are plenty more so that was a worthwhile promotion

When things were really crook and our attendances sucked I used to enter via the MCC, get a passout, then enter with my MFC membership to increase the crowd stats by one.

At the end of the day it's not about what you get - it is a donation. Rather than pins and scarves etc I'd rather the club just keep and use the money. How many scarves can you wear ?

It seems the biggest complaint dual members and non dual members have regarding the dual membership is that they get nothing for it. It's clear that the club needs to step up to the plate an offer something more to give people some bang for their buck if they want to entice them. Perhaps it could be a function with players in attendance. Could be paid for by a sponsor if the club wants to keep costs down.

maybe go back to treating supporters and/or members... as they did back in the 70's & 80's_  prior to the new Northern Stand schemozzle,  just for starters.

Since they built that Northern stand...  ordinary Mfc supporters have been treated as stateless.  since then kids cannot get within cooee of the players race.

Let alone the rooms, before or after.    talk about 'Trumps Wall'.

We pay the MCC/MFC full membership for our five (grown up and with mortgages) children as well as for me and the old fashioned Guest ticket for my wife.

I start taking Valium in August

One thing you do get with the full MFC is a nominated  child to be a member and with 13 grandchildren only one of whom is unfaithful (poo and wee) there’s no shortage of candidates to take up the membership.

In a couple of years my 50 year membership of the MCC comes up and the annual premium becomes $50 a year which means I might be able to give up work

MCC and MFC need to dangle a better carrot here.

Should be a section for Melbourne v. Non-MFC tennant games to get priority seating, or a tweed jacket, or pipe or Range-Rover key ring.

Simply put. A night at the Pub

Sorry but you don't go hard enough, Mrs Worship could chalk that up on her own.

To the question asked of her by the bar person "would you like another one?" I have often replied "don't encourage her"

I'm a Restricted Member of the MCC, won't be a Full member for at least another 6-7 years.

In the event that MFC make a Grand Final i'd have no chance through the MCC - would need to rely on MFC/MCC (Premium) with Grand Final Add on.

(Also get the 3xGuest Pass for selected games (have these been announced?) and a Young Demon membership, just need to find a young demon ahah. )

$545 (MCC Restricted Membership)
$219 (MFC/MCC Premium Membership)
$229 (Grand Final Guarantee)

So In essence that's a $448 'donation' on top of $545 for the chance to buy a GF ticket - Not that I'd be complaining if it occurred!

Re your question on the 3 guest passes

Yes - every MFC home game is an option this year! Huge win!

This was a pleasant surprise to see when my pack came in the mail. Got to hand it to the club for responding to the feedback that I couldn't find anyone interested in the Port Adelaide or Gold Coast games (I'm sure they were getting from more than just me)

I've been going the MFC/MCC Premium option for 12 years now. It's a bit pricey but you get:

Full Membership (incl. a vote)

Category 2 Grand Finals Ticket preference

3 x MCC visitor tickets

Free Junior Membership (he gets stickers too)

Scarf (to put with the 20 others in the cupboard)

So more than just a donatio in my mind

Oh... I almost forgot the fridge magnet

Known as “Chateau Collapsable”

My mum, before she passed away 4 years ago, made a blanket out of them.

My wife and I did the same!

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
