Guy Walker is a Category B rookie.  Not sure of background or any special reason to select. All I know is that he was a grade cricketer.

Anyone seen him on the track? First impressions??

According to Satyr on the thread for Saturday’s training session -

“Walker has unfortunately gone under the knife for a shoulder issue, should be back next week”.

He is already starting well behind the 8 ball so with shoulder surgery, it’s going to be hard for him.

The entire point of the Cat B rookie is to take a couple of years to work with them and teach them how to play.  A slow start right now isn't really an issue.  We'll see in time.  About all we'll get this pre-season is how much of an athlete he is.

If he makes it can we call him “Luke”? :)

Left footer who has been groomed to play across half back.

No rush at all to see if he has what it takes. If and Marty Hore develops well then it will put enormous pressure on Jordan Lewis.

I suggest he change his name to Mike so he can have a fresh start in the AFL footballing industry.

No.

We can call him Sky.

Or 'Max'.

He had some nerve issues in his shoulder, fixed now

Just waiting for OK to resume training

Neat and tidy skills from what I have seen, B class rookie so no stress

If he does that, he can rule out a career in television and media.

sonof norm: to answer your question, certainly some in the club recruiting / list management hierarchy feel he has some hope, which is why they chose him.

Yes. I think he’s a project like all Cat Bs.  I wasn’t sure if he had actually played as he grew up in the UK.

i wouldn't call 5 years from birth in the uk as "growing up in the uk"

he then had a year in singapore then rest in oz. made choice for cricket over footy at 17

his father is australian

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.

It's Game Day or has everyone given up. Maybe it is because a prime time Friday game is so rare ... double checks today is Friday ... Come on DL'ers support the team one last time for the year!
