Never used to missed an AGM in the bad old days but at this time of year it’s a tough ask to turn up to a meeting at the G after a hard day’s work. Especially when Garry Lyon’s on tv and taking wickets.

No doubt it will get it's own thread, but this is great acknowledement of a dedicated loyal servant of the club and his comunity.  Very glad the club has extended this honour to Nev.

100% Rodney.  Neville is not only a great footballer and a great person, but he is an outstanding ambassador for our Club, the game and his people.

...ok, or the renaming of an existing one.

How about renaming the tread to  "The Neville Jetta is a total bloody legend of the MFC adoration thread"?

Has Peter Jackson been made a Life Member previously? If not, I hope it is offered to him sooner rather than later. I think we are all indebted to him.

He was there last night LDC.

I felt there was a definitive club strategy led by Jackson to avoid using "the Dee's" in his speeches or media engagements. It was heavily focused on using "Melbourne" when referring to the club, playing group and even us as members and supporters. I'm sure it was with the intent of re-connecting the club to the city by name and therefore grow our membership and branding that way.

Pert however has been the "Dee's" this-and-that since his arrival.

For formal events and other high profile media, I would like Pert to follow PJ's lead and refer to us as the "Melbourne Football Club."

Grand plan Steve but I think the Dees is here to stay.

We are MELBOURNE...  is as bad as "We are Carlton, and F#%^^ the rest.

It has the same thin division line between arrogance and failure...  as the Blues suffered from under Elliot...  eventually sent them into a tail-spin they have not yet recovered from.

The danger is we isolate ourselves as blue blooded toffs...   distancing ourselves from the every day footy supporter out in the burbs.  Norm Smith would be churning in his grave, with any arrogance about the club.

Pert spoke really well. He is seeking advice and ideas from “Melbourne” people before he stamps his operational style into the job.

We will once again be a Big Club” where we always should have stayed. I have no doubt.

“Get the kids on board before they turn 9...”

100,000 members within 5-10 years can be achieved with winning footy, played the right way

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. I apologize for skipping our annual season review show at the end of last season. After a disapponting season filled with off-field antics and a heated trade week, I needed a break. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
