I'm kind of hoping clubs worry about Garcia's knee that he slides to 97. Bit wishful I know.

Robertson's best attribute is his leadership. and desire which is in the Joel Selwood mould

I was many stubbies worse for wear PSD but I was sure he said he can do things not many others can. I may have mistaken that for X factor but there was no mistaken that he referred to him as being the best WA player in the draft.

Yeah wasn't having a go Mcqueen, it's certainly an underrated trait.

Wouldn't rule him out as a chance at pick 8

Trouble is PSD the majority want to go home two years down the track.

Matt Balmer (Fox Sports) presents his Top 25 draft prospects: Future AFL stars headline class of 2019

If the selections at the draft meeting follow his Top 25, the Demons will select -

3. Hayden YOUNG

“Clubs: Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country

Position: Medium Defender

Size: 188cm, 83kg

Bio: Young’s standout trait is his biggest weapon, with the left footer able to slice through opposition teams exceptionally well. His vision to find targets out of the back half makes him a top pick, with a number of outstanding highlights coming in the Under 18 Championships. The 18-year-old averaged 22 disposals and 5.3 marks during the carnival, playing behind the ball and controlling the play for Vic Country. He has remained consistent in the back-half of the year, with three consecutive strong outings against the Dragons, Power and Ranges — collecting 25 or more touches in each game. Young is also a strong intercept mark and reads the play well.”

8. Brodie KEMP

“Clubs: Bendigo Pioneers/Vic Country

Position: Utility

Size: 192cm, 89kg

Bio: A ruptured ACL ended Kemp’s season in July, just as the 18-year-old was looking to push his case to be a top-five selection. Kemp’s Under 18 Championships were exceptional, finding a role up forward as he booted the matchwinning goal against South Australia. He has the capabilities to play down back and through the midfield, averaging 20 disposals and 6.5 marks during the carnival. Kemp wants to be a midfielder in the future and given his 192cm heights, clubs will certainly be watching him closely as they consider selecting the Vic Country prospect with a top-ten pick.”

Meh - no biggie in naming the best 40 in alphabetical order. Stick your neck out Shifter and make some real predictions by revealing where they’ll get selected.

Agree. Easy to name your top 40.

This is where Cal Twomey is very good at his job. Cal will predict where most players will go by talking to recruiters weekly and digest information he receives.

Mat Burgan' s phantom draft back in the day was one of the best reads at the time before all the bidding and academy stuff was introduced.

Cal Twomey may be good but he predicts Jackson at 14 (October). He will be gone by 4.

No he doesn't, he rates him at 14 personally.

A reminder that this is our view of the best players and doesn't take into account where bids for father-son and Academy players may come, or which clubs have which selections.

If you listen to his podcast it will put his opinion into perspective. He is strong that you don't take ruckman early and uses the recent premiership teams to back up his opinion.

Most of us don't care too much for his personal rankings, it's his ability to find out which teams are into which players. He is probably the reason you know that Jackson will go top 5.

Would be quite happy for us to have a punt on Jay Rantall also. Could be special.

I think his season was vastly underrated. Think he'll end up going higher than what he is currently expected to.

If we don't go with Young and end up splitting 8, I hope we take a good look at Trent Rivers.

Had an excellent season splitting between hb for WA and inside mid for East Freo.

A Jackson, Rivers, Pickett result from the draft would tick a lot of boxes for us.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
