Just wish the shop would sell long sleeves

Who is the most recent MFC player to play in long sleeves?

In 2017 Jayden Hunt wore the long sleeve against GWS in Canberra.

But only in the first half.

Remember thinking at the time how rare it was to see an MFC player in long sleeves. Only for him to revert to sleeveless after half time.

Chris Dawes wore them in a night game a few season's ago. I think we won. I remember Mitch Clark wore them too.

He had sleeves even wearing a standard jumper.

My memory may not be as good as it used to be.  But, seems to me that, when I was a kid back in the early 60s, the long-sleeved jumper was the norm, with the sleeveless variety being the rarity...

I always found it ironic that when Yze wore the long sleeve he'd roll the sleeves up. I'd like to see a revival of the long sleeve though, even potentially for pre-season a rugby style top.

I'm stoked with our home and away jumpers this year, only thing I would change it to implement the Zurich sponsorship better so it doesn't look like a iron on patch

Barrie I think your memory is playing tricks.

You look at most of the team photos of this era most players wore sleeveless jumpers or should I say guernseys.

There were always a couple of players who preferred the long sleeves, blokes like Ian Ridley, Geoff Tunbridge and Doc Roet, but the majority opted for sleeveless.

However, on a wet or muddy day many footballers opted for the long sleeves in keeping with coaching advice in this era.

Maybe it was just the set of jumpers used by the Sale High School Under 16s team!  Pretty sure they were pretty much all long sleeved!  LOL

Sorry, but all of the above are awful

Sorry but all of them look like training jumpers. Agreed SWYL.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
