Oddly, the NFL Pro Bowl had that format for a few years but has gone back to AFC/NFC teams.

So many other things to fix and yet this is what the time gets spent on.

I think AFLX can help the womens game (field size would suit) but otherwise put it to bed.

needs to be trialled in the lower leagues for a few years and allow some momentum to build (if ever).

Last year was a gimmick and got a few along but this year the novelty factor will have gone...

Here's a left field idea... $500k to the winner and play it amongst the teams who miss the 8 in the end of season bye week. Move the carnival between the four AFL cities each year and have the Brownlow on the Monday or whenever suits that weekend. Make the players accessible when not playing the games and turn it into a "fan celebration" or similar.
