Absolutely shattered. Missed out on MCC tix and I joined queue at 11:40 as one DL member recommended doing. Tried to then get 3 tix using MFC membership but couldn't get them as I kept getting the message that that amount was not available. I even tried general admission when it opened-nope. I guess I'll be watching on from home :(

Don't give up Sparkle!  I just checked Ticketek website and they have seats.

Also, I was able to get extra tickets for last weeks game a few days beforehand.  I think the AFL mysteriously finds more tickets to release.  I would try Ticketek every few hours/days.

And if that fails kindhearted DLers have made spare tickets available in this thread.  See @Wells 11post above.

Goodluck.

Thank you so much Watts2Hogan and Lucifer's Hero. I have checked Ticketek but the seats available are right up the top on level 4. I really appreciate the advice to keep checking back-it gives me a little ray of hope. Last week I was openly crying in the stands when we won...I guess this week it will be happening from home❤️?

Just tried best available, came up with Q54 row P which is a pretty good view. Only 14 rows back, you'll be surprised when you exit the vomitory how near you are to the front. We were row N last Friday, a few bays around. That said, aim for the Olympic Stand. The very back row is PP to put it in perspective.

W2H, thank you so much for your advice. Our cheer squad is at the Punt Rd end?? I can get category 2 tickets but they're down in section M33 but I'm certain that's were the Hawthorn Cheer Squad will be. As I will be with my Mum, daughter and myself, I don't feel confident sitting deep in enemy territory. At this point, I am just praying something miraculously becomes available on Ticketek as per Lucifer's Hero's suggestion.

Ticketek allocate tickets Bays to members for the teams eg I have tickets in the Pontsford stand bay N31.  So there will be demon bays at the opposite end to our cheer squad.  A scan of the last few pages of this thread will indicate where those bays are.  I've noticed others on DL are reporting tickets in Ponsford stand Bays, so you may still me among friends.  Last week I sat in a predominately Cats stand but there were a few demons around me so it wasn't too bad.

Curious if any MCC / MFC members are going to pay for a reserved seat with there MFC membership? I am not sure weather to spend $75 bucks to reserve a seat or wait in line for a couple of hours.

I did it. We got good tickets.

In contrast, last week we waited 2 hours in the MCC queue and while the seats were great, it is an INSANE system. I do not understand why the MCC continues with this ‘dark ages’ approach!

Thanks for that information Lucifer's Hero, you have been so helpful-I really appreciate it. From what I can see there are also some tickets available in M31 and M32. Which is just below you. I'll have a scan through the last few pages and see if anyone has seats there. I think what happened was as soon as those MCC reserved seats sold out, everyone (me included) tried to use their MFC barcodes to get seating and you couldn't get seats together.  I couldn't even get 2 seats together for my daughter and myself. I had followed everyone getting their seats on here this morning and had been so pleased for them. Can't believe I find myself in this situation.

Oh no that means I'll be in a Hawthorn bay... Promised my cousin I'd sit with him and he bought the tickets with his membership

To be fair, there are seats available - you're just not keen on them. I'd go to the game, even if the tickets were not ideal. You can always watch the game on TV later if you feel like a closer look.

went to ticketek outlet. No wait and got M9 (did "have" M13 online) so not so bad. Also saved the $7.50 booking fee.

And I used the "rejected" credit card with no problems

ticketek can gagf

Nice get, DC. My son and I are in M9 as well (row O). @old dee where are yours?

That's a fair call Rogue. Just a passionate Dee's supporter (with fairly poor eye sight), as I am sure you are too. Disappointed but you never know I might take up one of those high seats bc the atmosphere was bloody fantastic last week and I wouldn't want to miss out on it. Hope you got your tickets and enjoy the game.

M57 which is in the Olympic stand R and B. That is a long way from M9. I think I will be standing up the back watching, the fourth row is like looking through the players legs. My old eyes need to be a higher  elavation.

Yeah I waited in line last week for around an hour, got a good seat also but it’s such an old school system and it’s some what uncomfortable. I felt like I was at the Big Day Out but for old people, a little bit scary seeing old people pushing in the queue

The front rows are very hit and miss. When the play is near, you can see and hear a lot more, but when it is up the other end, it is like a bunch of flies fighting over a dust speck. Swings and roundabouts I guess ...

I am with a group in M56 about half way up. We shall keep an eye out for you, old dee.

Bitters said he just purchased a very fetching red 'n blue frock for the night from the Romsey Christian Brothers op shop, so he should be easy to spot. That along with the ring of vacant seats around him.

This is basically where i watched every home and away game from and i think its a good spot. In fact i actually prefer level 4 over level 1, as you get a good view of the whole ground. So anyone holding out because these are the only seats left, i would recommend just giving these a go. The feeling of outnumbering the hawks fans like we did to the cats will make it worth it.

Head along, mate - if we win, the atmosphere will be electric. You can always record the game to watch later, like I said, but the only place you'll get the atmosphere will be at the 'G with 90K+ other footy fans. If you're struggling with seeing the finer details then there's always the AFL.com.au audio streams (or a radio, if you're old school) to give you a hand with who's got the footy.

There is only one certain thing on Friday night Mr. Shadow and that is I will not be sitting in row E.

Standing up the back of the bottom deck is where I will be, you can put the house on it.

It's a shame that Ticketek* doesn't release standing room tickets until virtually all tickets are allocated, because there'd be plenty of people who would be happy with 'row e' and you would have been just as happy with a standing room ticket. Just another problem with the ticket sales process.

*Ditto for Ticketmaster

You're welcome to join me and my 20 mates standing (aloud) in M9 dc.

Lets not get confused here Rogue I would be far happier sitting down. I just don't like that close to the fence. Last week I had M it was good. But this week given the choice between E and standing then standing wins. I don't stand by choice but by necessarity.

Thanks M_9 but I prefer the Olympic stand. Have great night.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

Saturday’s election night game in Perth between the West Coast Eagles and Melbourne represents 18th vs 15th which makes it a tough decision as to which party to favour. The Eagles have yet to break the ice under their new coach in Andrew McQualter who is the second understudy in a row to confront Demon Coach Simon Goodwin who was also winless until a fortnight ago. On that basis, many punters might be considering to go with the donkey vote but I’ve been assigned with the task of helping readers to come to a considered opinion on this matter of vital importance across the nation. It was almost a year ago that I wrote a preview here of the Demons’ away game against the Eagles (under the name William from Waalitj because it was Indigenous Round).  I issued a warning that it was a danger game, based on my local knowledge that the home team were no longer easybeats and that they possessed a wunderkind generational player in Harley Reid who was capable of producing stellar performances playing among men a decade and more older than he.  At the time, the Eagles already had two wins off the back of a couple of the young man’s masterclasses and they had recently given the Bombers a scare straight after their Anzac Day blockbuster draw against the then reigning premiers.

  • NON-MFC: Round 08

Round 08 of the 2025 AFL Season kicks off on Thursday with a must-win game for the Bombers to stay in touch with the top eight, while the struggling Roos seek a morale-boosting upset. Friday sees the Saints desperate for a win as well if they are to stay in finals contention and their opponents the Dockers will be eager to crack in to the Top 8 with a win on the road. Saturday kicks off with a pivotal clash for both sides asthe Bulldogs look to solidify their top-eight spot, while Port seeks to shake their pretender tag. Then the Crows will be looking to steady their topsy turvy season against a resurgent Blues looking to make it 4 wins on the trot. On Election Night a Blockbuster will see the ladder-leading Pies take on the Cats, who are keen to bounce back after a narrow loss. On Sunday the Sydney Derby promises fireworks as the Giants aim to cement their top-eight status, while the Swans fight to keep their season alive. The Hawks, celebrating their centenary, will be looking to easily account for the Tigers who are desperate to halt their slide. The Round concludes on Sunday Night with a top end of the table QClash with significant ladder implications; both Queensland teams are in scintillating form. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons hit the road in Round 8, heading to Perth to face the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium. With momentum building, the Dees will be aiming for a third straight victory to keep their season revival on course. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
