how far did Gus kick that ball? He's kicked it at least 30 meters out from the 50, and it goes to approx. 25m out from goal.

That's a fair roost on the non-preferred!

9 seconds end to end.

If my maths is correct, we could have kicked 300,000 goals yesterday if we’d kept that up

A goal every 9 seconds is 800 goals I think. 60/9*30*4.

Except each qrt not going to be 30 mins if a goal kicked in every 9 seconds of elapsed time...

We'd all still be there for a few days yet

All the left footers we have now is reminiscent of the Hawks threepeat machine.    Also is Fritsch really an 18 gamer? Surely not.  Damn he is good.

How could any umpire who had integrity, and anywhere normal eyesight NOT pay that as holding the ball??

Another great piece of vision from the game. Jesse Hogan's 1st, 2nd and 3rd efforts.

And how in the world was that NOT holding the ball?

An extremely good question. The answer is it was,

Looked to me like Bowes handballs and at the same time it gets smothered back in to him by Hogan who then tackles him. So his prior opportunity resets, he's then tackled and the ball spills out in the tackle.

Would need a reverse camera angle to see.

Either way, effective forward pressure turns a potential goal from a holding the ball in to a certain goal. Lovely look away handball by Hoges.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
