GAMEDAY - Round 12

We are all done. Sadly it’s been a no contest.

Its fair to say that we are flat track bullies at this stage of our development. We are still nowhere near being contenders. And gees Lever going down has totally [censored] us.

We also need to close off the inside options and force them out boundary side.  We have allowed them to own the middle but the Pies have pressured us well when we've tried the same.

Agree were a bottom 8 side at best. Can't handle the pressure. This is as bad as Rd23.

Here's an unpopular opinion . . . Nathan Jones is done at AFL level unless he becomes a tagger only. Why is he not sent to deGoey now? He's a butcher

we need to outscore them this quarter and then it's game on.

Pedders to CHB ....Tracc to replace him at HFF FCS!

Two-way running and spreading on offence! FFS!

That's where Collingwood have destroyed us all game. That and clearances.

Geez I hope we can get over these scum bags

If we get one more we have won the quarter again. This game reminds me of last year when Cwood jumped us by 4 goals in the first.

A bit like r23 last year

They jumped us in the first qtr and maintained the lead for the rest of the game

Lost it in the first 10 minutes today. Old habits

Is this the first time all year we have conceived 100 points?

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
