See what I've done above?  The message is the same, but the outcome is different.

All players would know what they need to do this year to improve.  Some will indirectly know the outcome if they don't, others won't (just have to see this year's trade period to see that).

I agree, no sugar coating with Roos, but he has a reputation of his people management ability.  He wouldn't get that by telling a bloke 12 months out that if he doesn't do "this" then he's delisted.

I don't expect you to agree, but have a think about it.

Sorry  been busy with other thing, yes an exercise in pedantics, actually I spoke to Pedo and he used those words not me, so he must be paraphrasing

As for Misso, if he said every single player came back in better shape that he expected I would be shocked

No worries Saty.  I, like many, rely on your input during the preseason, and look forward to your reports.  I just want to make sure I'm getting a close to accurate account with what you post (helps me feel like I've been to the sessions too!), and not your interpretation (where possible).

You really do need to read the posts closely always highlight if it's my opinion or I have asked the player, although the answers I get are all lies anyway????

Yeah mate. The supporters and the CFC club in general can go and eat a cubic metre worth of d!cks.

As a player, I really admire how Docherty goes about his business.

Notes from training today, Tommy Mc running, jumping turning, kicking, told me only 2 or 3 weeks away

Tim Smith is another who has been rebuilt whilst off legs, up and running as well, said everything on track, his arms are huge

Same guys in rehab, but work went up a notch

As noted on AFL website, mood was upbeat

Misso took most for 6 runs up Andersons Hill, Billy Stretch the standout, unfortunately his efforts made for a second look at breakfast on the walk back down after 6th run, much to everybody's amusement

Jordan lewis was training today, didn't do hill runs

The other old man Bernie Vince looks really fit, did the Anderson runs encouraging everybody else

Pics will be in Insta later

How'd Dec look today Saty? Still a bit under the weather or doing alright?

I'd be interested to know who the players were that didn't turn up in the shape the club expected them too.  It's a little disappointing to hear that after our end to the season.

On the flip side, great to see someone like ANB not resting on his laurels of an improved season and going even further with his preparation.  That's exactly what we want to see of players at the club.

Well it's not a non-story. Considering that clubs try to be relentlessly positive with the messages coming out at this time of the year, I'm really disappointed to hear Misson say, verbatim; “They’ve come back in OK shape – some that we would’ve liked to have come back a bit better".

Especially after the statement they made by trading Watts.

Follow the link for a few photos from today’s session (interrupted by my racing over to the Dees Shop to pick up a jumper to get signed for my son). There’s a few incidental non footy shots at the end, including one I liked of an unsung hero of the music business... one of the drivers that lug the stage gear across the country; he was hauling gear for the Drake show.

Hope you like the shots.

I don't want to get into an argument here Saty as the mods have made it clear that they will be policing this thread strictly, but if it's a non story, why in the world would he say that some haven't come back in the shape they had hoped they would?  Might be a non-story in your book, but if Misson has to say it in they are clearly not as happy with some as they are with others.

Some could mean one or the whole lot of them. Mission could have been in a bad mood. Who knows.

Let's not get our knickers in a knot about a comment to an unofficial but much loved observer.

I'd personally like to know who is fit and raring to go in September. It's a long season.

So do I, but I'd also like to know who didn't, although I probably won't find that out which is fine.

I wasn't getting any knickers in a twist, I was just curious as Misson made the comment about some not coming back at the fitness levels they expected.  It's a discussion point at the very least.

It's old news, Misso had them pounding up Anderson's Hill in stifling humidity

Nobody looked totally spent or lagged behind, Misso has control of them now, and it's November

The 2 that impressed me today

Vince   if this is his last year, won't die wondering

Omac just seems fit,  was just behind the good runners up Andersons and stayed there on all 6 runs, rest of session just completed with minimum of fuss

Old news or not, it's news, regardless of who is pounding up Anderson's Hill.  The fact is that some returned to pre-season training having not reached the expectations set by the training staff.  Misson said it himself.

That's all I'll say on the matter.

Why the need to always focus on the negative

We had pages and pages over Oliver's  pre season last year, that turned out badly didn't it

Refreshing start. So... um, er.... at the risk of being off topic, when's the next training session?

Might sneak in a couple before xmas myself. Hang out behind the bushes on Anderson hill, join in with the boys quietly and hopefully lose my beer gut.
