I was going to comment along similar lines as to the 'aberration' but was worried it may have been perception shaped by fact. My feeling though was the team put in a mighty effort to beat Adelaide, whereas on the weekend vs. the Dogs we were just a serious team going about business as usual.

Dom's goal stood out. I've been commenting on a perceived lack of penetration in his kicking perhaps due to his pere-season knee troubles, but that one well and truly put it to bed.

What was certainly noticeable was their lack of effort to get back and defend when we had the break. I would be ropeable as a Dog's supporter. Found out, and then simply gave up.

Just watched all the goals. Alex Neal-Bullen is in everything. He might go largely unrecognised here, but I reckon the selectors know exactly why he's getting a gig. And continuing to improve.

His deft little kicks are really effective and always to his team mate's advantage.

Has a happy nack of being in the middle of a pack but being able to hit up that 25 - 35 m option in the 50m. whereas most other players would bomb it long for an intercept mark.

Not quite sure what can be done about games at Etihad. The AFL needs to decide whether they want the ground level to be full and have some atmosphere or whether they want to bleed $50 out of people to sit there. IMO empty seats is a bad look. Demon Army got 250 seats for 550 members, which doesn't even equal one full bay. No wonder most Melbourne supporters were up in the nosebleed section.

Not to worry. The AFL will start filling the seats with virtual spectators on the TV. Ground will look full and even if one team is 100 points ahead the crowd will be on the edge of their seats.
