It's also possible that St Kilda are slightly ahead, but on the same trajectory as us: because they actually stepped up a gear when a top 8 team hit their best form in the third and fourth quarter, but held and on found a way to win in a very mature fashion. I'd like to see us do that as well as beating the Saints, before declaring us the same.

I still think the Saints are behind us, simply because they rely more on their older players to win, Roo, Joey and Steven carry their team and i'm not sure their youngsters are anywhere near as good as ours.

I think when Joey and roo retire we'll see the Saints slide back a little bit and the lack of top end talent exposed.

I have been stuck in airports, planes and taxis today

i just saw the Whorethorn jumper

WTF is that in aid of?

Rocky Road Icecream?

Must this putrid club be on top of the ladder for eternity?

That jumper is worse than their normal sewage design

who allows this garbage!!

The pink jumper was in support of Cancer Council Tasmania...more personal to them this year because of Roughy.

Really no different to when we wear pink on our jumper which looks only marginally better.

Its the cause that counts!

Still an obnoxious design. But then it is Whorethorn...

Riewoldt and Montagna fair enough, but Steven is still young, so can't really include him.

While i see the point you're making, I don't include him in the next crop of emerging Saints ( Billings, McCartin and co ) which i feel lacks depth of talent, they have a couple of good looking players but our depth of quality in terms of our very young group is far superior and that's why i believe we're not only ahead now, but i think we'll be light years ahead in 3 years time.

The Hawks jumper screamed of a marketing meeting where everyone was too scared about being perceived as insensitive towards cancer, instead of being the one that pointed out that it looked like they were promoting National Turkish Delight week.

Or Seb Ross. Played a very smart game. Most pressure Dangerfield has had this year.

Played a good game against us too.

Just like we did in the last quarter against GWS when Hogan kicked 3 after a pretty ordinary day and Watts flicked the switch.

Nah, but it was just cos GWS didn't kick straight.

Why?

Exactly. A large number of Whorethorn's 2008 GF side is still running the show. Until they retire the equalization strategy means stuff all

Well if teams would bother to put a hard tag on Mitchell and play a defensive forward on Hodge, we may see different outcomes.

Sure. But it never happens

even in Finals. Drives me nuts like yourself!

Because any team who wins 4 premierships in a row is clearly not a member of an equalised competition.

You should coach.

Simple, true, and has taken everyone 5 years to work out where their drive comes from.

Smash Mitchell,Hodge and Cyril to a pulp. You win.

We had a chance to be a contender by now, but Barry Prendergast had other ideas.

The only thing wrong with the current system is the academies which fly in the face of equalisation, yet Hawthorn get no advantage out of it.
