I might spend the weekend trying to work out why a "now folded" cricket club is even having an AGM.

I was wondering the same thing. To me it sounds like it was a drinking club with a cricket problem.

Tonight - Eels hopefully beating Bulldogs, tomorrow - bringing our new Labrador puppy home from the breeder, and probably cleaning up Hawthorn coloured marks off the carpet for the next few weeks. Also have 2 metres of sand to put down for paving and just as much pine bark - it won't be getting done next weekend!!!

Watching replays on YouTube.

Pirtek Fishing comp - heading to Eildon shortly.  But if I was home I'd definitely be going to the Scorps match.  Wife and Daughter will be heading there so I'll at least get a good run down.

Re-introduce yourself to the missus and kids.  Spend 2 ms on the anachronistic shield competition.  Stay away from here for 3 days and avoid Jesse Hogan and Jack Watts overload.

No game and no spirited win by the boys ... dammit. A man could get used to this "winning".

Will probably draw pictures of Jesse at the G taking screamers. In the background the scoreboard reads Melbourne 30.20.200 Collingwood 0.1.1 (half time score).

Think I heard on the radio that you got your wish re: Eels. Or am I wrong?

I'm the runner for my partner's footy team, girls have their first praccy match of the year in Aspendale tomorrow. More than half the team are newbies who's names and number I don't recognise and I'm unfit as all hell. Reckon the coach will have had enough of me by the end of the game!

Anyone aware of when The Age's Footy 2016 liftout is due please? Did I miss it?

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
