Free agents 2016

There aren't too many names on that list that I'd be interested in signing that would also be willing to leave their clubs.

I'm also not concerned about our ability to re-sign Jetta, while the jury is still out on the other three.

Get in Kieran Jack's ear Roosey!

Interesting that Grimes and Watts are restricted free agents, meaning they are among the highest paid players.

While I hope they are both retained, I think you can guarantee they will be looking at reduced contract offers for 2017 from the club.

I'm confused by Jetta's name on that list.

I was under the impression that he was delisted and by the club at the end of 2013. As he was then re-drafted through the rookie draft, then elevated at the end of 2014, wouldn't that mean he's only been on our list for one or two years??

Pencil may well look for greener pastures now that Gawn is pretty much entrenched as first choice.

Grimes, Watts and Jetta will all be looking to re-sign.

Although Spencer may look elsewhere at the end of this year, considering our current ruck depth (Mitch King and Max King who still need more time to develop) I hope he stays.

  • PREVIEW: Brisbnae

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
