We missed Ollie Wines, let's not make the same mistake.

Imagine this kid in the centre square, will cause explosions with Viney for the next 10 years. Much better prospect then Curnow in my opinion. By far

You said the exact same thing with Mathieson..

That was before I watched Oliver's highlight reel.

I rate them both over Mr 14 average disposal Curnow.

Not enough of an impact for a top 10 prospect. J Howe had more of an impact

Are you serious? You are comparing a midfielder to a key forward this year mate which is absolutely ridiculous

Curnow isn't a key forwArd. In fact in his own bio he says himself he isn't even sure what position is his.

Only 4cm between the two.

And this shows you did not watch any game of Curnow. Thats where they played played this year due to coming back from a long term injury. We all don't know what his best position is but fact is they played him as a key forward this year.

Too risky for me for a top 7 pick.

Site bitching aside, this kid obviously has some serious ability.

How did he go at the combine? If he has the tank and some skills to go with that mongrel he's got to be right up there.

He missed the pre-season with OP. Started slowly because of it, that is why he didn't get an invite to the Nationals. Didn't poll many votes in the first half of the season, but came home like a steam train in the second half of the year - and won the Morrish medal. I have no doubt he is the best mid in the draft, but whether we take him or not is another story. But he should be still there at 7.

Hmm, I worry a little that he looks like the next Brent Moloney. You know - if a coach says 'move the ball quickly, take the first good option' he will be thinking 'ME! I'm the first good option!'

There's just something in those highlights that made me think he wasn't as aware of his teammates as an onballer needs to be at AFL-intensity.

Would be nice if the highlights showed where the ball went after he kicked it.

Looked good though.

And he won't be able to break tackles that easy at AFL level. His disposal looks average if that's his highlight reel.

That's what they said about Ollie Wines

Curnow is not a midfielder now and would need a lot of work and maintenance put into him before he could ever be a regular in the midfield. If you think we can pick him up and make him a midfielder, you're kidding yourself. It might happen but the percentage chance is low. He's more of a third forward now and might never be more than that.

Where have i mentioned anything about him being in the midfield?

Completely missed the point.

Missing pre-season with OP makes me think of Colin Sylvia. To think we were punting a Premiership with him and Brock Maclean as two top five picks. We thought at the time that they were the top mids in the draft.

Please stop making outlandish comments about who we 'must' take based on YouTube videos. I beg you.

Please don't pass on Ollie!!!

Who will it be next week...it was Mathieson last week, Oliver this week.

I can't wait until the next batch of AFL videos come out so you can tell us who the next mistake of the decade will be.

The sad case is that the 03 draft was a stinker.

If you look at the players in the top 40 taken after them the only players better were David Mundy at 19 and Jed Adcock at 33.

Hell, better players were taken in the rookie draft. Our own Aaron Davey at 3, Andrew Carrazzo at 2, Nathan Foley at 4 and Paul Duffield at 10.

Actually reminds me a helluva lot like Jordie Mckenzie in the way he moves.

Not sure what your watching as Jordie sure in hell couldn't kick a goal.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
