Jesse Hogan's dad, Tony.

can just feel the "positivity" :roos:

Pity we could not extend Hogans contract for another 5 years...he is a ripper...

Hi jaycee, that's not always the best, & long-term can cause some players not develop to they're capacity. We have to trust that this club will become a place he wants to belong to.

I get that feeling since Roosy came in, & with PJ. that this place is/will change for the better ...

Bit worried that we just let Jesse's dad stand at the back with the plebs (no offence to you Webber). He should be reclining on a velvet throne in a gold-plated box while someone feeds him grapes.

We are talking about Jesse Hogan's dad, not Tom $cully's.

Sounds like a very genuine sort of no BS guy.

What the hell is he doing at the footy? When he should be at home making more baby boys.

An appropriate thread update.

RIP Tony and best wishes Jesse and family from all at Demonland.

Vale Tony. Seems a lifetime ago that we briefly met and chatted, and on the occasion of the Dees first win at Etihad for many a moon. I suspect that given the club is rightly sacrificing Jesse's place in the team this Sunday in your honour, that you will feel duly obliged to deliver us a win. You impressed me as a proud father, but with an essence of humility and a realist's view on the future. For you, that view was too quickly justified. I have no doubt your son Jesse will continue to make you proud, and equally those Demonlanders and MFC supporters who will now have some perspective on, and sympathy for, the personal issues affecting form. Rest well, big fella.

I don't like Etihad (shocker, huh?), so I prefer to stand at ground level, floating around as if to suggest I might do a runner at any moment. When Jesse Hogan belted in front of the pack for a mark and just kept running into goal toward the last half of the second quarter today, I gave a "fire 'em up Jesse!" for good measure.

Tony had a good Fathers Day.

Jesse was on fire that day. In addition to the great mark and goal you've described, there was also this ripper right on 3/4 time.

A note to any media germs reading this. Please lay off the kid for a while and show him a little more respect than usual. I'm sure you'd expect the same under similar circumstances.
