Will Big Max re-sign?

Featured Replies

They're both one ruckman players. All or nothing...we need to find a really good forward ruck.

Funnily (or not so) enough Mitch Clark was that player.

I was just looking at Geelong big footy. The cats fans are wondering why Mitch Clark has dropped off the radar and speculating he may be in Perth.

Mitch Moonshadow? Oh, and we're a Melbourne-based club (for the time being).

Ask around about how Mitch and Stef got along when they were team mates and why. That's as much info as needs be said here.

Oh, and Stef would not come back to the Dees in a million years.

Agree that he is unlikely to return to a place that was shambolic during his tenure. Too many bad memories.

Of course it would depend on the deal on offer but I doubt the club would over- commit to him with Maxxy thriving.

They had a picnic and were great buddies. They discussed camera lenses for hours on end.

The end.

Intrigued. But I live in Cambodia and asking around about a Mitch and Stef will likely find me in some rural backwater with a dodgy military chief trying to sell me a decommissioned Messerschmidt. But am I to take it at least that Martin's departure wasn't a Neeldism?

I think he'll re-sign. He seems like a reasonable bloke. Hopefully he will repay the club for all the seasons the club supported him during his numerous injuries.

Unlike a certain amoral person who was also given incredible support by MFC then [censored] off down Highway 1.

May be feeling a little down in the dumps at abandoning a club on the rise for one that is on the decline.

I am a little surprised by this comment. Obviously I don't know the guy, but my understanding was that he has a problem with a specific person rather than the club. Was there more to it? The club backed the other guy and didn't support Stef maybe?

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
