A snapper or a flathead?

The consensus amongst commentators (apart from that stroker Duh-Wayne) is that the MFC have the most promising set of youngsters.

I reckon Jesse knows this too.

Don't know about that mate, extremely bold statement!

The consensus among comentators? it would go something like this IMO:

1. GWS

2. Gold Coast

3. Western Bulldogs

4. St Kilda

5. Melbourne

Gws..before or after this trade/ draft ?

I seriously wouldn't put Saints ahead of us.

GC ?..Again after trade ???

lol, it's not what i believe. Just the impression I've got from listening to people in the media.

You've made my day Bub.

Heard from the axiomatic 'reliable source' that Roosy is currently walking around with a smile he just can't wipe of his face. Apparently he is pretty chuffed at landing another 'big fish', which will be announced when the time is right.

I just hope my 'reliable source' is correct.

You have just raised the expectations of all demonlanders. I was getting depressed over the silence at Melbourne. Now I am excited. If this is a rumour and not fact, you will be tracked down and shot at dawn or slowly tortured.

I hope Hogan is just guessing about where Frost will be playing in 2016.

He's far more suited to the back-line.

We beat 3 of those sides and lost to the other by 2 points.

Apart from the Dogs, there's not a great deal in it.

I was merely suggestinv how foolish the media are. Not having a go at yoyrself.

My point is simply...the dynamics of lists now as compared to final lodgement can be quite different.

Ours will be :)

whiteboard Wednesday anyone?

Do I get a last wish?

Do I get a last wish?

Of course you do ivá. Given the consequences of a wrong prediction, your last wish is obvious I would have thought. Perhaps Roosy was smiling with the thought of getting away from Melbourne and landing the big fish in the waters off Hawaii. Of course if your prediction is right, you will go from martyr to hero straight away.

Not my prediction Ernest. It comes from my 'reliable source'

i'va, you mentioned earlier the 'big fish' player responsible for Roos' 'cheshire cat' type smile will be revealed when the time is right.

Can you tell us roughly when that will be...the anticipation is killing me!

Can't be sure on that one LH, but I would think sometime after the Granny is done and dusted.

Thanks iv'a...does that mean he is be playing this weekend ...rhetorical question!

Whoever it is we are doing a damn good job of keeping it quiet!

BTW I did hesitate posing that rhetorical question for fear it will set all the DL's player wishes off the scale.

Then I thought 'what the heck' it gives people a new line of speculation for the next few weeks!

I once predicted the fall of the Roman Empire. Seriously, I have no information other than what my snout gave me. That's all.

on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being 'Paul Roos' and 1 being 'some random down at the pub' what score would you give your source? :D

On tippin winners at the races, I give him a big fat zero. On his footy connections, I'd give him a 7

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • PREGAME: Gold Coast

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
