Are we seeing Geelongs culture crumbling?

Oh no!

My heart is bleeding all over the keyboard.

Bleeding Red n Blue, I hope. What a way to go. Adieu

I spelled it all out months ago, but no one cared to listen.

Brian Cook is living off past glories.

ssshhh, don't tell them. you want to give em all your secret weapons?

let them pay heaps for Mt Danger as well.

It will be interesting to see what their move on Dangerfield is now. How can they ask the AFL for money and then chase after expensive free agents? Surely if they receive money from the AFL they will be told that it can't be used to finance Dangerfield? Surely the AFL have learnt their lesson from the Sydney equalisation fiasco to make sure they give the money conditionally.

Is the AFL capable of learning?

Landing Motlop would be huge for the club and definitely something that is probable. Howe + 1st round pick for motlop + 2nd round..Thoughts? I would love to see him in the Red and Blue. Goal kicking mid with pace is something we really need.

Paying way overs but would like to pick him up...

They need to decide whether they want to be a Geelong team or a Melbourne team. You can't have half your home games in Geelong and expect Melbourne based fans to attend, and vice versa. I'm not surprised that people are dropping back to lower levels of memberships when it is likely that they will only attend 5-6 games a year.

Does Hawthorn need to decide if they are a Melbourne-based team or a Tasmanian team?

Just throwing it out there, but am I the only one that wouldn't be overly excited about chasing Motlop?

I watch him very closely. He's the type of player that could get us in to a final, but wouldn't win one for us. I know some would take that in an instance.

Feast away...!!!

depends on where we finish - i don't really rate Howe. If we end up with say pick 3 then we would probably want their first round pick or say pick 19

If we could land a player that could get us in a final, I'd be down for that!

it's just a salary cap issue

they can't overspend the salary cap, so if they can fit him in then it's legit and nothing to do with overall p&l

plus for landing danger some benefactor will probably chip in and he would be good for membership sales

Cats end of 2015 outs: Motlop, Enright, Kelly, Stevie J

2016 in: Dangerfield

That gives them the cap space.

Regardless of who the money goes to, they still have to pay the minimum of the salary cap, and can't pay over the cap.

I don't think the FA argument is relevant at all.

For me, he drifts in and out of games a bit too often. Then again, Rioli has this tendency too and he can impact a game so much that it doesn't always matter.

i'd have him in a heart beat. we can always use a bit of cream

Close to BOG in the 2013 Semi-final v Port from memory.

Hopefully

It's very, very sad to see Geelong in a bit of trouble. I thought giving us up to 200 seats for the last clash was extremely kind hearted.

- Cost blowouts on the stadium construction including light towers

- lower than expected govt contributions for stadium upgrades

- massively over-optomistic forecasting error for the revenue coming from their Point Cook gaming venue

- hilariously incompetent sponsorship deals including clauses allowing sponsors the option to renew deals at the same already low rate for the same duration

- inability to properly effectively upsell memberships or sell functions due to staff not fit to run a bath (especially corporate) but they have been able to hide until now as the tickets have sold themselves in successful times. Unfortunately their recruiting choices to turn things around have been very poor, and now some of the more capable rats are deserting the sinking ship

You sure know a lot about Geelong Machsy.

You're not the Mayor are you?

His hair would look like a deranged bogan skunk and he would claim to have photos of lady Diana bleeding to death in his safe.

But i wouldn't put it past Machsy.

I can confirm that Machsy has artificial abdominals.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
