Melbourne v Western Bulldogs @ Eureka Stadium Ballarat - 14th March, 2015

Jeff Garlett is going to make hay buzzing around Hogan's feet this year. In the back of his mind, he's probably hoping Jesse doesn't start taking those grabs.

Salem off half back will be getting the opposition's best defensive forward by about round five.

Great run and spread, and some very good ball use in the back half (including from TMac, Grimes and M Jones), final kick inside fifty the only thing letting us down.

Couple of times we over-committed forward searching for goals, and fast doggies players carved us up going the other way. Need to stay more disciplined.

Coverage isn't great but gee....it's so good to watch the Dees again.

Anyone else feel like one of the commentators (Craig Hutcherson maybe?) doesn't a damn clue what he's on about? He doesn't know any of the damn players, do some research! Plus every time he thinks he says something intelligent Liam Pickering contradicts him (and is right to).

Again the commentary taking away from my enjoyment of the footy.

Very pleased with Hogan and Salem so far :)

Garlett's crumbing was fantastic.

Hutchy is an idiot but I think he works well with Pickers. Their Saturday morning show with Dr Turf is quite funny.

Watching on the PC and Chromecasting to the lounge room for my 6 yr old little demon.

Which works out great because I lose the audio!!!!!

Hutchy is an absolute peanut! Pickering at least knows football...

Not a bad 1st quarter into a stiff breeze...

Toumpas did some nice things by foot... Which is why we drafted him... People will soon realise he is a gem...

Salem was great floating across the backline...

Frost's chase was unbelievable.... This guy is going to be great!

Hogan is indeed the Hulk!

Been pleasantly surprised by the quality of disposal given the conditions, although under a lot less pressure than will be the standard.

Garlett, Salem and Prince all very good and the backline looks assured

Need to make a statement on the scoreboard this quarter

Anyone else see Grimes and T Mac hit nice low perfect passss?

Good to see

Salem is officially my new fav player

Everything that Craig Hutchison does is amateur, no class at all.

How someone so fat gets paid by McDonald's to promote their products is beyond me.

McDonald's has always used a clown as a front man.

Terrible kick from JKH but seriously M Jones...

JKH and Garlett. Great small forward combo. Jay kicks his first.

tried streaming in chrome instead of firefox, still getting nothing :(

Adelaide? Hutchence a joke

Looking ominous. First time I've said that in a positive sense in a long time.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
