Correct, I posted several weeks ago that Grimley is not rated at all by the senior players still Hawthorn. A current Premiership player who is my son's best mate told us that they can't believe he is still on their list.

Would be a certainty that the likes of N Jones must think similarly of about 30 blokes on our list.

He is an overly cocky under talented forward. Dawes, Hogan, Pederson, Gawn, Fitzy and then mccartin leave us pretty covered in this area I think.

I think he's better than Fitzpatrick, but at the same time there's no point having 2 of them.

He's depth at a good club, but not good enough to be more than that at Melbourne.

If we take another tall forward with any of our proper picks we don't need him, even if we don't I'd rather use the list spot elsewhere.

Just another name I have never heard of that some excited poster gets a boner over in hope that we may actually "fluke" one really decent "never has been" reject from another club sometime soon. No thanks.

The MFC of now only hunts good fish thankyou.

You mean they cover us for "overly cocky under talented forwards"?

You'd have to look at him, but you'd also have to consider that he may be the lesser but taller version of Shannon Byrnes, and that's not a good thing.

He's just a VFL player 'Machsy', really offers not much more than a bit of size.

The one i wouldn't mind is schroder from Geelong, i really think he has a little bit to offer

Now with the draft done, Grimley as a rookie makes sense as a key forward and backup ruck. He kicks goals, has skills and knows how to win !!

If we can turn him into a defender, then make it happen.

I'd rather look at Luke Lowden, has he found a home yet?

Traded to Adelaide

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
