I cant put my finger on it ....but something's not quite right.. Reminds me of the 'bait and switch" routine. The more I think the more something smells fishy !

Who moves and why...etc

St Kilda are big winner if they get the Junction oval and leave the swamp. Good for them. Heres where it gets curious. Cricket Vic would take up co tenancy at the Junction. DO they currently have some commercial obligation to the G ? Would hey need some bunny to take over some lease etc Have no idea but Im thinking , forget whats in it for us, who actually benefits ??

Why are St Kilda a big winner?

They get an oval they can't access for 6 months a year. Every club has moved or moved the cricket clubs off there ovals.

Have Read the pros and cons, but on balance I think it could be a massive pr winner, The g would truly be our home ground, and new supporters and possibly players could be attracted to that idea. Also, Eddie would hate it.

You remind me of Dermott Brereton, bub.

they did in the 60's

not sure about 70's but think so

Moved to the Junction in the early 80s IIRC. Certainly still training at the MCG in 1981.

Rebels have pretty much moved training base out to Optus. Own gym, change rooms and medical facilities.

I count only 3 tenants at AAMI.

Of course MFC should train at the MCG. It's our home ground that has been taken over by interlopers. It is not cricket that brings in the crowds and money to the ground. It's AFL. Melbourne were the original and oldest football club that played on this spot. In order to reed tabling a strong culture, an identity and a home ground advantage all of which we desperately need please let us train there! The blessed turf diesn't have to be perfect! It's football not Wimbledon centre court!

Pretty sad we are the only team without our own custom built training base and elite facilities

even fellow paupers North and the Bulldogs have them.... unbelievable

yep, exactly.

and we need to become a club, once again.

I believe part of the Junction makeover is a refurbishment of that other oval just nearby. The Sainters would always have access to an oval from what Im told.

They get to leave Seaford, has to be a win. Not a slight on the suburb ( used to live there ) but its out in the boonies and none of the players enjoy it.

StKilda going back to StKilda....win win win ..Good luck to them. , they need it that band of self destructing wallies

This would be awesome. We are Melbourne, the whole lot of it.
I love this sh*t. The AFL can try minimise MFC, but we are making some nice inroads with these ideas.

We are really lucky to have PJ, Barlett and Roos, they all play their roles so well, going about their business.

I have no idea what that means....lol

  • AFLW PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
