Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

So putting the two riddles together, I get:

Black mouse - Paul Roos (black hair, small mammal)

Electric Clock - Jack Watts

Lancelot in feathers or furs to command of his sir or whatever - swan who played under Roos.

So we're trading Watts to Sydney for a player?

I'm quite enjoying this.

Edit: just realised Sydney can't trade in players :(

Someone just posted on another thread that a good source has told him that Trengove is staying put. What does that do to your riddle GNF?

These been a lot of so called good sauce around but no one will give us any of it to taste.

Well [censored] I'm to share good oil, not play the bard.

But you missed a bit. What's in a pouch?

Jo(sh)ey Kennedy

Joey!

...Josh Kennedy. I win ;)

But then again I've been alluding to Sydney, in addition to posting photos of JPK for the last 24 hours. But who am I to spread rumours? I'm just a Demonland poster with no credibility whatsoever...

Roses are red.

Violets are blue.

Suffer you fools.

For a few more moons.

Moons and fools don't really rhyme.

I would laugh really hard if we only snagged Garlett Lumumba and Frost this trade period.

Then I would cry.......

Why sad dd? The transformation of the list is a long term proposition not a short term fix. I for one am excited that this upcoming crop of draftees are going to have a seriously good mentor in Roos to show them the ropes in their first and second years. All the players crucified on these forums over the past few years are being weeded out, minus a couple. It's nothing but positive steps for mine

I thought sydney could trade their players for draft picks, but could not trade players for other players, if so they maybe looking to get as many early draft picks as this their sole source of new blood this year.

Correct. Can only trade out their players for picks, not other picks

If we are playing at riddles, I've been told to keep mum as this is really really close, but try this....

Ronald who looks after the fries, is currently cooking us up a Mac-lin

Sorry! I meant not other players!

Gotta start drinking a bit slower!

Ok, here you all go:

- "Our likely trade partner comes in black and white but is not a little bird. "

Solution: Swan. A large bird that comes in black or white

- "Tick, tock, the black mouse has run up the electric clock.

Lancelot lurks with feathers or fur to the command of his sir."

Solutions:

- Clock: SCG clock tower

- Mouse: John F Kennedy's wife called him "mouse".

- Lancelot: JFK had a well-documented fascination with Lancelot, and is linked to him throughout various texts i.e. 'Medievalism in North America'

Now Chook in Perth's riddles:

- "Our marsupial is digging into his old pouch"

Solution: Roos - Sydney

- "What's in a pouch"?

Solution: Joey. (Kennedy's nickname)

I win

swans cant trade in players but pick's are a different story. 3 for Mitchel.... then they can get another tall (2m peter?) to replace Goodes after next year.... just saying.

3 for Mitchell too high! Can't get a game, should be second rounder at best

"Lancelot: JFK had a well-documented fascination with Lancelot, and is linked to him throughout"

And JFK supposedly liked to use his lance a lot. Which, considering his chronic back condition can either be viewed as a mighty effort or mighty stupid!

everyone else is speculating. I'm just basing possibility of the other errrrr "stuff"? floating around.

fwiw it's not the speculating that is annoying me in reading all this, just the knee "jerks".

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
