clever.

And also, my statement that NSC's source/rumour is the worst posted on Demonland still stands.

Come on - at least it wasnt the bloke at the local servo!

How's this for a random event. The tradie that just came to my house claims we will pick up a 'big fish' and that Roos expect we will be much better placed.

lol, you know an Orca's not a fish right?

Or are you trying to say we're going to get something better than a 'big fish'?

Yep, if Garlo comes up for FA next year, we'd be crazy not to shop him around now. It fits the Roos FA principle.

I wouldn't trade Galand. Garland was excellent in 2013 and had an ordinary preseason this year. So we would be trading him at a trough in his value. And we will still get reasonable compensation for Garland next year anyway if he leaves as a RFA.

Personally I would like to see us go with a more skillful backline in 2015. I also think both Garland and Dunn are better when they are played on key forwards. So IMO we should trade McDonald for a midfielder (Greenwood/Toby Green) and run with a back six of Dunn, Garland, Howe, Lumumba, Vince and Jetta.

Sounds like the Barry Hall recruit for us. He's also apparently immune at the MRP so by all means go out and keep breaking noses while "spoiling" the ball.

I love that Roos is recruiting run and hardness into the team. I think we'll be physically tougher to play against next year, with much more defensive pressure to throw teams off kilter. Roos obviously learned a lot from Hawthorn demolishing Sydney with immense pressure, and this strategy echoes his thoughts from Monday: "The consistent theme with grand final winners is immense tackling and ball pressure."

Now we just need to recruit someone who can kick.

I really think we need to be looking at a midfielder with pace. That is something we are sorely lacking. Especially when we get the ball from defence to the midfield, there is literally no-one who has the speed to take the game on and deliver the ball. Hence why it is always stop start. (Also Roos instructed us to play that way aswell)

Midfielder with pace... who can kick. Blease has pace but can't kick.

Pick 3 for Sam Reid & Membrey?

Doesn't address our midfield problem but set's our talls in stone.

Would leave Reid alone, he's bloody useless!

Membrey I rate though and reckon he's been bloody unlucky not to get a look in, would definitely bring him in!

I think you'll find there is no more FA compo after this year Tony. That back 6 you mention would be crushed by the big fwds of any of this year's top 6 teams, much too undersized. My understanding is that teams cannot trade players that re sign a new contract in the year of the trade period, which makes TMac not up for trade. Not 100% sure on that rule though.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
