Essendon have sent pick 62 to GWS for Giles.

Why on earth do we spend 5 years developing Spencer when you can bring in a much better, mature ruckman with a pick in the 60s?

Talk about clogging a list.

That is exactly why Roos doesn't take big guys in drafts.

I'd be happy to offer up Grimes as a sweetener. Maybe package him with 23 and see what clubs are willing to bite. Richmond or GWS could be interested.

That's a steal.

Massive steal. Would've done pick 23 for Giles + Frost.

Still doesn't help our midfield stocks but at least we'd have a fallback plan if Jamar starts the year injured yet again.

GWS may deal now that Ryder deal is over.

Hopefully we package a better deal for them than the Saints

The Bombers receive pick No.62 along with Giles and send pick No.53 to GWS.

It's almost a fait accompli that GWS will offer picks 4 and 6/7 to Saints for pick 1.

Or maybe picks 6 & 7, and hold on to pick 4, so they can get Petracca AND a key tall to replace Boyd. Saints would obviously argue for the former.

I am very very surprised we aren't pushing hard for Mitch Hallahan...

Happy to be proven wrong but it almost appears like we went incredibly hard at the one target, and when that collapsed we were too far out of the game to go after anyone else. Plenty of decent players (NB: none 'great') have moved clubs this year for picks worse than what we're still holding on to. Really frustrating.

I expressed the very same elsewhere the other day.. Would be better than half a dozen of our current lot youd think... Be a little improvement to the list...ah well.

Running out of time so you would have to hope that Saints say we are keeping pick 1 and can't get Membrey. That would make GWS look at us for any deal which could also clean up Frost.

If we want Lever we need to get 4 plus a v good player from GWS for our 3 (+/- steak knives) otherwise Coll will probably take Lever with 5.

Just got traded to the Suns for pick 47 and 49

Even more of a steal.

They've slid back 9 spots from 53 to 62 and are getting a mature ruckman that I personally think is a better player than Jamar and Spencer.

I just can't understand the Spencer project.

We could probably swap 3 for 4 if they throw in Frost, but pretty pointless.

At least it frees up pick 2 in the PSD for us though. Actually works against GWS to do that though, so they're probably happy to let Frost slide.

Exactly how can you be proven right or wrong on this ?

Really frustrating....

Why would GWS give up a very good player for a one pick upgrade when the guy they want will be gone at pick 1?

They also need talls to replace Boyd. They can get the best two if they deal. One is a Boyd type and the other a strong KPF.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
