Things that wrong for us over the years ...

Christ a topic like this doesnt just need a thread ...more likely its own postcode !!!

As Roos said in his B&F speech, it's happened let's all move on....

I completely agree with him, I'm sick of feeling sorry and numb about every loss - 2015 on and upwards!

ahhh we did win mark of the year back in 2010 so it hasn't been all bad ;)

The YouTube link under the 2011 heading is pretty close to what I reckon Hogan's Heroes is like most game days.
For those who haven't seen it:

Great Clip.

I'm beyond that frustration now.

There is a better one of a South American dad in his chair watching his soccer team get relegated.

Not for children.

Someone posted it here once and there is some very articulate swearing in it.

They do get some of the dates mixed up (i.e. the Port Rd. 1 thrashing was in 2013, not 2012), some things could be viewed as either positive or negative (Roos meeting Heritier L) and some of it is just conjecture but about 70-80% is undeniable.
I would also add to the Energy Watch fiasco that that company was a financial and organizational ticking time bomb as well and Ben Polis' rants just showed the world what was inevitable. How we signed up on what was close to 2 million a year beggars belief. What were they going to pay us with? Fingernail clippings?

not far from myself and the old man to be honest

One thing not on that list but symptomatic of the whole mess was the year that the colour of those little back of car stickers faded after about a fortnight. And we're driving around with monochrome stickers that resembled virtually nothing to do with the dees. Was it 2007 or 2008 ????

And I'm like that guy in the video, only less measured. My wife turned the power off at the mains one Sunday afternoon when I lost all sense of decorum and reality. Half a bottle of scotch and 2 hours later I calmed down a bit.

An interesting read, obviously biased..

But when I read the following...

  • Juice Newton plays like Jonathan Brown for the first quarter of the game against North then never does anything ever again

i remember that game clearly, saying to my dad, finally he's come of age...amazing first quarter, the whole team was dominating..thinking finally...that three quarters of crap!

Off topic, but does anyone remember when Garry Lyon said Matthew Bate was one of the 50 best players in the AFL..?

FMR.

I left mine on it looked like a Geelong one and I think they won the flag that year.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
