Players to watch are Darcy Moore (f/s Pies), Jordan de Goey and Will Gowers of Oakleigh and Jayden Foster (f/s Bulldogs), Paul Ahern and Touk Miller of Calder. All have done little bits and pieces to show why they are attracting interest.

Chargers lead 2.2.14 to Cannons 2.0.12.

Calder dominant in the latter half of the quarter and lead 5.1.31 to 2.2.14.

Matt Goodyear of Calder standing out with a nice goal from outside 50 a minute before the siren.

Apart from the high standard of play, I can report there are some bad haircuts out there.

Ground in very poor state due to the Justin Timberlake concert, Good start to the game by the chargers but Calder dominating the last 15 minutes.

For those going out to Visy Park today to see Angus Brayshaw, here's an appetiser -

And for more, Paige Cardona's Phantom Draft currently has us taking

Brayshaw at # 2 but note the caveat at the end about his ankle injury:

As for Roos being there, I should think he would because apart from seeing the draftable talent, he has a fatherly interest in one of the players.

I really don't like the way he kicks the ball.

Toby McLean has 14 disposals to be the top possession getter and looks a likely type as a small forward with a late pick. Mind you, I was also impressed by the last bloke we recruited out of the TAC Cup with that name. De Goey looks good as well. For Calder, Paul Ahern looks classy but was injured late in the quarter.

Christian Petracca being interviewed by Paige Cardona and sounds like a bright, intelligent young man. Suggestions that he'll be the number 1 selection.

Paige is now interviewing Age writer Emma Quayle. She doesn't put much effort into phantom drafts until after the trades and draft combine when things are more clear in terms of who has the picks.

Petracca looks good but it's very open. Likes Peter Wright for the things he can do but hasn't done as much as he would have wanted.

On the father/sons, Jayden Foster - Bulldogs should nominate him. Still needs to do more body work but he's kicked the goals. Darcy Moore is one of that top bracket as well.

First blood of the second half to Cannons' skipper Touk Miller. Paul Ahern has been cleared of concussion and is also back on the ground.

Oakleigh skipper Darcy Moore marks and goals in reply to make it 19 points again.

Three quarter time: Oakleigh Chargers in control leading 13.10.88 to the Cannons 8.4.52 and heading for their second flag in three years.

For Oakleigh, De Goey looks classy while Kade Answorth, Alex Urban and defender Hugh Beasley look good. Paul Ahern is all class for Calder but hasn't had enough assistance.

Few of the Chargers have raised their standing today. McLean & De Goey look like beauties. Like how Miller has kept fighting it out for Calder. Lining up for no 3 now.

On what you are seeing WJ will some one nominate Moore prior to pick 8?

I would imagine Malthouse would be very happy to take Moore with the Blues' pick.

Goal off the ground to Oakleigh's blond small man Kinsella gives them back a five goal lead after Miller's second within minutes, followed by a brilliant goal from Ahern - back to 24 points the difference, eight minutes into the final term.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
