I'm an ex MFC/MCC member and am in Italy. Just purchased my new wife, myself and our 2 dogs (yes MFC has pet memberships) new memberships, she's a Carlton supporter but bad luck! I'd be dead over here without the constant footy updates and bickering! Happy to help out.

And you still have money to donate!!!!!

I would just like to add that donating or taking out a subscription doesn't give posters the right to act like a [censored].

Wait a minute perhaps an incentive would be to allow donators and subscribers a way around the [censored] word filter.

We would be [censored] rich!!!!!

Haha damn straight mate, keep up the good work

There are many people who value the site a great deal but will only donate when there's a call to action like this.

I wonder if we could have a donation progress bar, that gives users the target to reach every 6 months or every year. At least then, we'll know where we all stand.

I prefer to stay just a member. Been banned a few times and I'd hate to become a "defrocked" life member. I'll just make regular donations.

I am happy to support the cause - keep up the entertainment. Thanks to the administrators.

That's very generous of you but I would prefer you kept the money if you can't afford it. It's only a footy forum. Volunteering and donations to proper causes are more worthy. Thank you anyway.

Andy, I had a thought earlier today about this, but wanted to get a better idea of how many post multiples on the site on a regular daily basis.

What if: we have a few categories:-

* new rookie member: registered avatar, Read Only - One off 2 months: Free of cost...

* new member: Read only - 6 months: $10.00...

* new member: Full function - One off 6 month subscription: $20.00...

* Demonland: Full member: Annual 12 month subscription: $30.00...

* Demonland: Concession 12 month subscription: TBConsiderd ??? _ _ _ _ (pensioners, health care card, fulltime students).

* if a member needs to be suspended, maybe back to read only for a time ???

might be worth some thought?

Just come back from a month in Italy and was shattered when I couldn't get the AFLlive on my ipad or computer. I rang AFL Melbourne and after a very annoying wait (I did say I was ringing from Italy) they advised oh no live play was not available in Italy - rest of Europe yep but not Italy. I was shattered but listening to AFLlive radio V Carlton was almost as good. Oh yes have never purchased and will be happy not see the "love me long time" girls. My donation is forthcoming!!

I think thank yous are in order - RobbieF

A very generous donator

Bit outside the box. I think the ads need to be more intrusive and annoying. I really don't notice much difference between logging in as myself or as a guest. More ads might make people want to get rid of them more.

Aah, but if opening Demonland only got you to the Enter Site Page, with Adds & basic Demonland & Mfc information, but not the forums, then the reader would have to register for a particular membership.

Even if only a rookie membership for free?

If indeed this stuff is at all possible to create.

Mobile skin refers to the smartphone version of the site to makes it easier to read on an iphone or android type device and is not a protective cover for a mobile device.

If you are referring to the former what device do you own?

I purchased one for about $30.00. It is leather and well padded. SO the phone is well protected if I drop it.

Oh, your talking about a Leather mobile Skin for your phone, now I see... :(

dee-luded, if people can't see the goods, they won't buy

all they need do is register for free. get into the site for free as a read only member. it could be made a simple exercise to do.

As I said earlier I think this can have it's own set of problems. Forums need new blood to grow. Forcing people to pay might scare people away and I don't think it is fair to make people pay for something they can't afford. If we were churning out huge amounts of our own content then things might be a little different. As it stands I am comfortable with allowing our users to decide if the want to contribute. People have been very generous and that is great. We've had about 8 or 9 months of hosting paid for today. We still need more to help out with the software costs. Thanks again everyone who has contributed.

Can I get rid of this new skin? It is easier to read and very good. But I like to make things harder for myself and would like the old view back.

how about a separate section on the front page saying something like services or business of posters ?

I used to advertise my pinball company on a couple of pinball .aracde chat forums

they had a section called sponsors and we all had a small section as in a thread and it had our logo's

we could post specials in there for members

it could be a win win , it opens up sales/services for members and the sales/services go to members

just a thought

also happy to increase the lifetime member upto 100 , ( will top this up tomorrow )

this site as been great to read and keep upto date on whats going on , I don't post much but really enjoy site

thanks

Just payed membership, but I will miss all those gorgeous women wanting to meet and marry me. Made me feel like I was special (oh hang on, I am special, I'm an MFC tragic!).

Sometimes I log in as a guest just to see the ladies who want to meet and marry me, and the cougars who "live near me"....... :)

I rarely post (or even login), but I do check the site out regularly.

Time to pay my dues.

Cheers, and good luck.

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
