This is my draft target. Peter Wright.

Carlton already lined up to tank, beautiful. You can guarantee they won't get a fine either.

If we don't trade them.... Brayshaw and Goddard

But I'd rather trade them.

I see he goes to Matthew Bate's hairdresser

Wright has been tipped as a top pick in this year's draft for a couple of years.

If we somehow fail to get access to him I'll be very surprised, and I couldn't see us letting him go if we did end up with pick 1.

He is a big unit, with big wraps on his competitiveness and - most importantly - his skills.

the thing for me that's different about him is with Boyd and Hogan they threw kids around like rag dolls with their massive frames, this kid has another dimension to his game, he is quick on a lead, a good set shot he doesn't rely on his contested marking, reminds me alot of Nick Rewoldt in that way, and he is also a very capable young ruckman

If we were to get access to the first pick/priority pick I'd be very annoyed if we traded our chance to get Wright for a later pick and player. I still am annoyed we traded pick 2 Josh Kelly who has a lot of the qualities we need but have in short supply such as awareness, poise, elite kicking skills, time and a footy brain.

Paige Cardona writes on Bound for Glory News about Tyler Roos, son of you know who - Bloodlines

Roos is on the Sandringham Dragons list and here she described his round 3 game:

Tyler Roos

The son of Paul Roos, Tyler had another polished game for the Dragons and if anything appear to come into his element more with gun midfielder and Sandy captain, Angus Brayshaw away on AIS duties. Roos was a solid contributor, finishing with 25 disposals and a goal. His gut running was a feature, which reflected in his ability to spread, collecting seven handball receives but let himself down with a disposal efficiency of just 60 per cent. Of his 16 of kicks, only eight hit the target which is something he’ll need to tidy up if he’s to take his game to the next level.

Sounds like he might become a footballer with some decent coaching.

I still can't believe there are people like you around that are so blind to his ability.

I mean, I don't really rate your football judgment anyhow, but when it's so painfully obvious, I thought you'd still get it.

My mistake.

That's very disappointing Machsy because I rate your football judgement (note the spelling) big time. In fact, why you're not recruiting for the footy club on a full time basis I'll never know.

However, at the risk of offending your sensibilities, I maintain that Frawley is currently not a gun for us.

given we will be winless this year, it will be a crime if we dont get a PP

Hmmmmm....... :)

*judgment

Look it up.

I suggest you do. It's a legal term. Anyway Machsy, we won and Frawley was terrific.

So who's the likely pick 5 or 6?

Maybe even pick 7 or 8??!! Still in a state of euphoria.

This is my draft target. Peter Wright.

Aha! Today is starting to make sense...

Pick 18 mate.

I don't need to. I know it is "judgment" as do many others.

Maintain your ignorance if need be.

neither of you are (totally) correct. generally the british prefer the 'e', the yanks drop it. both usually accept the other as a variant

I prefer Shakespeare's spelling "iudgement" .....yes, that's an i not a j

what a jidiotic way of spelling it .

You can spell it either way, but the original spelling is always better - ie. the British spelling. So "judgement". :P

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
